Great American Restaurants is seeking an experienced Director of Construction Development to join our growing construction team. This on-site role is based out of our support center office in Fairfax, Virginia, with frequent on-site work expected at all new and existing locations. Established in 1974, Great American Restaurants operates thirteen high-volume, upper casual restaurants, an upscale dining location, three artisan bakeries, and a fast-casual BBQ joint in Northern Virginia and Maryland.
With several new locations in progress and more in the works, this new role will contribute to all aspects of the construction and development process, with a strong focus on design and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, kitchen designers, general contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver ground-up builds and major remodels on time and within budget.
- Apply strong technical expertise in construction processes and building design, working with architects, engineers, and trades to build complex, high-quality restaurant environments.
- Review and validate architectural and MEP plans. Identify and address issues prior to mobilization.
- Implement permitting strategy with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Partner with internal construction and operations teams to execute facility improvement projects efficiently and effectively.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years of progressively responsible construction project management (hospitality projects preferred)
- Experience managing $10M+ projects
- Knowledge and understanding of restaurant construction processes, food service equipment, facilities management, mechanical systems and procedures, building and health codes, and other applicable regulatory requirements

ABOUT THE NATIONAL PARTNER TEAM

YOUR IMPACT
As a Summer Intern supporting the National Partner Team, you will gain hands-on experience in membership management, corporate engagement, and nonprofit partnership strategy. You will contribute to projects designed to enhance National Partner engagement and visibility across BBB National Programs’ self-regulatory and dispute resolution programs. This role offers exposure to partnership management, strategic communications, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including Marketing & Communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the development of a creative National Partner engagement plan to strengthen participation and program awareness
- Conduct research and analysis of the National Partner roster to identify engagement opportunities and trends
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to enhance the National Partner newsletter
- Assist with coordinating social media content and targeted outreach that highlights National Partners and promotes engagement

What You’ll Do
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, you will:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and support a team of inforce servicing professionals, including senior specialists and annuity-focused roles

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 3+ years of life insurance policy administration experience

- Strong product/solution management acumen with the ability to translate philanthropic needs into compelling fundraising value propositions and actionable campaign plans.
- Expertise in pipeline management, demand generation, customer segmentation, and fundraising enablement tactics to accelerate donor acquisition and conversion.
- Track record of driving multiple concurrent strategic initiatives to completion in fast-paced, matrixed environments with a bias for continuous innovation and entrepreneurial problem-solving.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience aligning sales, marketing, operations, and leadership teams to execute integrated fundraising GTM strategies.
