PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians. As a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, this position participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

All duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations.

· Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.

· Serves as a resource for health care team, participates in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned.

· Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures are performed and reschedules missed or insufficient laboratory collections.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to support the daily operations of our Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCCU). The ANM plays a key leadership role, partnering with the Nurse Manager to ensure high-quality patient care, strong clinical outcomes, and a positive, team‑focused work environment.

This position is ideal for a clinical nurse leader who thrives in a high‑acuity setting, excels at mentoring and supporting staff, and is passionate about delivering world‑class cardiac care.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to nursing staff within the Cardiac Critical Care Unit.
  • Assist the Nurse Manager with staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and accountability through active rounding, coaching, and real‑time feedback.
  • Support quality initiatives, audits, and evidence‑based practice improvements to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and ancillary staff—to enhance patient care coordination.
  • Participate in budget oversight, resource allocation, and operational planning.

Qualifications:

Nursing Licensure: Current State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required
Education: ADN required, BSN preferred.

Certifications: Specialty Certification in area of practice and/or management preferred.
Experience: One year experience in clinical area.

Skills: Requires detailed knowledge of nursing, standards based practice, & shared governance, in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data. Must have an understanding of human resource issues, operational budget, and financial resources. Ability to determine appropriate courses of action in more complex situations that may not be addressed by existing policies, procedures or protocols. Decisions include such matters as changes in staffing levels, order in which work is done, and application of established procedures.

Our Progressive Care team is looking for a Charge RN to join its team. Responsibilities:

  • Interrogates, evaluates and programs implanted cardiac devices for in-person patient encounters with proficiency utilizing programmers for all four major device manufacturers (Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific and Biotronik)
  • Recognizes CIED abnormalities, such as device or lead malfunction, End of Service indicators, notifies cardiologist and assists in scheduling patients for follow-up or replacement as indicated.
  • Completes pertinent documentation for CIED assessment, arrhythmia management and anticoagulation status.
  • Responsible for reviewing/processing of CIED remote transmissions and trans-telephonic monitoring for alert notifications as well as routine transmissions.
  • Knowledgeable of manufacturer device advisories/recalls and follows recommended guidelines by manufacturer for the specific advisory notification.
  • Participates in continuing education specific to CIED management, electrical heart disease as well as other related cardiac disease processes, i.e. congestive heart failure, genetic & congenital heart disease.
  • Provides cross-coverage within CIED department to satellite facilities at Rust Medical and Santa Fe Medical Center.
  • Serves as an expert resource for device and arrhythmia management to CIED technicians, nurses, APCs, cardiologists, Research Department, Radiology Department, and primary care physicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates of Science in Nursing required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • RN-NM, Current licensure in New Mexico as a registered nurse
  • 1-2 years’ experience (2 years preferred), in critical care, interventional cardiology/electrophysiology lab or cardiac step-down unit.
  • Strong cardiology background preferred.
  • BLS certification & ACLS certification required
  • Completion of a professional CIED program through Arrhythmia Technologies Institute (ATI), PrepMD or similar program preferred.
  • CIED management experience preferred
  • International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification desirable
