• 14 on / 14 off in the inpatient unit
• No outpatient clinic required

About our Behavioral Health Team:

• Join a group of 8 adult and 3 child and adolescent psychiatrists as part of a comprehensive behavioral health program
• Position is a full time, hospitalist model psychiatry inpatient unit
• Average caseload is 18 patients, 18 yrs. and over
• Comprehensive inpatient team including family therapists, social workers, chemical dependency counselors, behavioral health techs with robust programming
• Overnight call averages 1 in 8 days
• Newly renovated, state-of-the-art, inpatient unit
• Access to immediate hospital medical services such as hospitalist consultation, full lab and imaging services in house
• Access to strong community behavioral health services, including; partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, ECT, ACT and case management services
• The Behavioral Health Department provides a spectrum of care for children and adults, including inpatient psychiatric care, consult-liaison and emergency psychiatry, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization services, and an outpatient behavioral health clinic.
• Essentia Health Duluth hospital, Adult in-patient unit has 44 beds. 

Requirements:

• BC/BE Psychiatry
• ECT experience preferred

COMPENSATION

Essentia Health Duluth Children's Hospital , a member of Essential Health, is the region's largest provider of pediatric care. With 12 outpatient Pediatricians, 2 NPs, and many pediatric subspecialists on staff, including Hospital Medicine, PICU, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, PM&R, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Orthopedics, we are able to care for the area's most critically ill infants and children. Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center is a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.

We are seeking a 1.0 FTE and one casual, Pediatric Gastroenterologist in Duluth, MN, to join our growing team.

The Pediatric Gastroenterologist will:

• Partner with our current, full-time, Pediatric GI physician and support staff to grow services
• Perform a full spectrum of Endoscopy procedures in Essentia's state-of-the-art Digestive Health Center
• Rotate call with partner
• Partner on all GI hospital admissions with acute care Pediatric Hospitalists and Intensivists who service as primary
• Be supported by child-life specialists and other services uniquely designed for children and adolescents
• Join a robust pediatric subspecialty team as we continue to expand and grow services throughout our region
• Treat patients/families coming from an area that includes North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan.
