Job Summary:

Candidate will work with our Chief Estimator and/or Project Manager(s) to create takeoffs, put together project estimates and bids using company selected software and resources. Candidate may be required to administer/manage assigned projects during the construction phase from project commencement to project close-out.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidate should have an associates or bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management or Drafting Technology (or similar accredited program).
  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in civil engineering/construction management disciplines associated with Transportation, Site-Civil or Structural Infrastructure with experience in some or all of the following:
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, AGTEK or similar CAD software.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Bluebeam Revu or similar PDF takeoff software.
  • HCSS HeavyBid or similar estimating software.
  • HCSS HeavyJob or similar job reporting software.
  • Calculate and present earthworks quantities, underground utility quantities and material quantities, including spreadsheet processing as required.
  • Knowledge of site and/or roadway grading, DTM creation, point management, alignment and cross-section creation.

Job Overview:

The Project Manager 1 is responsible for assisting in the success and profitability of a project from the bidding phase through final completion. The PM1 reports to the Group Manager and shall initiate regular communication with the GM on bid challenges, risk issues, cost impacts, project conditions and highlight other concerns which create a scope or cost deviation from the original estimations of profit and loss involving a particular task. I. Summary:

The Vice President of Equipment plays a critical leadership role in supporting Miller Bros. Const., Inc.’s continued growth in the heavy highway and site development industry. Safety & Operational Excellence

  • Manage the equipment acquisition and disposal process including purchase vs. rental decisions and life cycle analysis. Work closely with the Accounting department in equipment financing decisions.
  • Supervise the repair and maintenance programs and equipment operations including the parts/supplies warehouse and shop facilities management in an effort to improve efficiency, productivity, cost control and effectiveness
  • Develop internal equipment billing rates and review periodically to determine they adequately reflect actual costs
  • Oversee scheduling and work closely with V.P. Public and V.P. Private for the best utilization of all MBC equipment and evaluation of new equipment needs

Budgeting & Business Strategies

  • Work closely with others in the senior management group to think strategically to develop growth and business strategies, goals and action plans
  • Review utilization of equipment to manage the usage, purchase, sale and movement of equipment
  • Communicate with all departments to determine each other’s needs and to coordinate actions for the benefit of all
  • Participate in compiling and reviewing annual budgets for all of MBC and managing monthly cost reporting
  • Share regular updates with the senior management team and with the Advisory Board at the quarterly meetings and as requested
