Akkodis is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a 6+Months Contract to Hire. This is an on-site position in West Point, MS.

Location: Onsite-West Point, MS

Duration: 6+ Month Contract To Hire + Fulltime

Rate Range: $70/hr. to $75/hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will provide key support in actively improving and driving processes and productivity. This position will support production, as well as improve and support current manufacturing, documentation, and processes metrics. It will also contribute to the improvement of existing processes and collaborate with product design teams to achieve design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities:

• Support new business opportunities by compiling detailed cost estimates that outline the manufacturing plan for that product (including process flow, equipment, hours, etc.)
• Support design for manufacturing optimization on new product development and phase gate KPI.
• Estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
• Compile a detailed timeline for all manufacturing launch activities, such as facilities, people, materials, processes, training, validation, etc., needed to support the start of production.
• Responsible for all tooling and technical engineering support to implement new products and processes into production. Selects and creates SOW, Capex, designs, installs, and modifies equipment and fixtures for new product launches and existing products.
• Leads process design functions to determine product flow through the manufacturing cell by use of current engineering and continuous improvement techniques. Establishes resource requirements and material flow using industrial engineering techniques and internal Company standards to establish optimum cell configuration (creation of the most efficient manufacturing cell from material inflow, through production, to outflow).
• Analyzes various product structures and processes in order to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs. Performs DOE analysis to determine optimum operating parameters by manipulating variables and analyzing how they interact to achieve the most efficient cell, measured in terms of processing time, quality, and cost.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of Mechanical, Industrial engineering experience, master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years design experience (Pro-E, AutoCAD, SolidWorks- preferably in tooling, fixture, and equipment design, including plant layout) preferred
• Experience in NPI, Automation & Analytics, ERP/MES, Bill of Process, Welding, and Error Proofing.
• Knowledgeable in high and low volume manufacturing (APQP, prototyping, GD&T, OEE, equipment and supplier selection, DFM, 8D, process capability, CAD, and PLM systems).

Atlas Web Technologies ® is seeking a Divisional Plant Engineer for the Meridian, Mississippi facility.

Divisional Plant Engineer Job Duties & Primary Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership to multiple plant locations driving improvements in reliability, process control, and other pertinent KPI’s.
• Create necessary CAD drawings for equipment layout, process control, fabrication and assembly of components.
• Familiar with pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, and boiler systems and controls.
• Must have exceptional operational knowledge of process equipment and the ability to make logical decisions concerning the operation, maintenance and modification of process equipment with minimal supervision.
• Experience with project management and implementation from the initial planning stages to completion on time and within budget.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines for capital and expense projects with input from stakeholders.
• Prepare project justifications and formal authorization requests for capital projects generally over $100,000.
• Commission new production equipment, controls, and processes, and monitor modifications and upgrades.
• Familiar with control loops and control strategies to support troubleshooting and optimization of existing controls and processes.
• Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in optimization of processes and products involving modifications to facilities, equipment, methods and materials.
• Where appropriate, select and supervise external contractors and consultants to ensure they meet the requirements for function, cost, timing, and quality.
• Works with process, quality, production, and manufacturing personnel to develop and implement process changes necessitated by new technology or improvements to current technologies.
• Make observations and take measurements directly, as well as collect and interpret data from other technical and operating staff involved to develop and implement process improvement.
• Works with maintenance departments to develop proactive maintenance procedures and programs for the facilities and process equipment.
• Travel 25% to the other two locations (Sylacauga, Alabama & Franklin, Ohio). Expected travel requirement is minimum of 30%, potentially higher during project implementations.

Divisional Plant Engineer Additional Required Skills & Qualifications: (include computer, language, mathematical, and analytical skills required)

• Advanced analytical skills and creativity in solving problems and troubleshooting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to effectively work with various levels in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple short and long-term projects.
• Competent with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project
• Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) (ControlLogix/ RS logic) is preferred.

Divisional Plant Engineer Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no direct internal supervisory responsibilities.
• Supervises and directs outside contractors during the construction and commissioning phases of capital projects.

Divisional Plant Engineer Education: (include Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations required)

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or similar technical discipline.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ hands-on work experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of measurable results.
• Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle complex assignments and be proactive.
• Experience in building materials or paper manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience in process batching and coating technology is preferred.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This positionis responsibleforleading and managing the engineering team responsible for developing, improving, andoptimizingmanufacturing processes to achieve operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, test, document and approveECN's(engineering change notice)as needed to effectively address warranty issues, manufacturing requests and/orpurchasingrequests.

• Serve asa technicalliaison between Horn Lake manufacturing team and Milwaukee based product engineering teams with respect to new product development to ensure manufacturabilityof products. Specific responsibilities will include assisting with BOM's(bill of materials)as needed,developlabortimes, standardoperatingproceduresand written work instructions.

• Interface askey technical contact with RHPC engineering in Milwaukee.

• Meet established welding and assembly design criteria by ensuring compliance with work procedures and instructions.

• Analyzes andplansspace requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

• Ensure that all required tooling is in place andmeetsengineering designcriteria.

• Responsible for the facility management of the Horn Lake facility on aday-to-daybasis.This includes theloadingdock equipment,forklifts, production equipment,machines,and operation of the mechanical equipment from plumbing to electrical.This position alsois responsible for theday-to-dayquality audits and feedback to the production team on a daily/weekly basis.

• Ensure compliance withthe engineeringbudget that is in place on an annual basis.

• Review/ order engineered product to ensure product structures and BOM's are correct.Work with Applications and Engineering to build labor and quality standards asrequired. He/she willassistandrecommend inthe automation of equipment and processes toassistin the ergonomic and productivity of manufacturing RHPC products.

• In conjunction with manufacturing andpurchasing, complete Value Analysis projects to reduce current costs through redesign and/or use of alternate components.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S to enhance efficiency, reducewasteand improve product quality.

• Manage capital projects, including equipmentselection, layout planning, and justification for investment.

• Analyze production metrics and root cause issues to improve, reduce downtime, and enhance process liability.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical,Industrial, or ManufacturingEngineeringor related fieldas well as five+years related experience including supervisory responsibility (or project management responsibilities) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must have working knowledge of Solid works and AutoCAD(or equivalent software).Thorough knowledge of BOM structures and itemmastersasrequiredfor manufacturing and engineering support.

• In addition, knowledge of JD Edwardsrequiredas needed for engineering purposes.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or PMP.
