Position Overview

Performs scheduled and preventative maintenance to production equipment, fleet vehicles and specialized equipment. Repairs equipment and orders parts as necessary. Maintains service/repair records.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and repairs fleet vehicle chassis and specialized vehicle back-end tank, pump and spray systems.

  • Diagnoses and repairs tractors, forklifts, small engines and specialized equipment (aerators, seeders, spreaders, etc.).

  • Responsible for accurately documenting all repairs in an electronic maintenance management system.

  • Maintain parts inventory and work area in clean and orderly fashion.

  • Arranges, follows up and documents outsourced maintenance performed by vendors and local service providers.

  • Develops and executes preventative maintenance programs.

  • Prepares and manages maintenance budget.

  • Responds to vehicle and equipment breakdowns in field as needed/required.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-4 years automotive mechanic experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc.).

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Time management and organizational skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance.

The Manufacturing Engineer (Contractor) will execute activities associated with the development, application and maintenance of manufacturing standards for the manufacturing processes. Core Responsibilities:

* Lead troubleshooting activities with direct support from Quality Engineering and Operations Leads to resolve manufacturing issues.

* Directly support Process Engineers and liaise with inspectors with generating Engineering Reports

* With process engineering support, create and validate CAD models in direct support of CNC programmers

* Create new shop processing work instructions e.g. set up instructions, SOPs, operation sheets, etc…

* Interpret repair requirements and implement repair techniques in adherence with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.

* Work directly with Senior Engineering staff on various engineering initiatives.


Qualifications:

* Three years minimum of related experience in overhaul and repair operations (5+ years of experience preferred)

* Must be familiar with Repair Technical Data (Engine Repair Manuals, Service Bulletins, OEM approved supplemental data, etc.)

* Must have experience authoring typical shop process planning paperwork e.g. Routers, Operation Sheets, Inspection Forms, etc.

* CAD proficiency (Inventor or NX a plus).

* Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees.

* Demonstrated ability to work with team environment.

* Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; AutoCAD required. NX a plus.

* Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodology (6-sigma, 6-S, Continuous Improvement) a plus.


Education Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering a plus


Software/Tools Used:

* CAD proficiency (Inventor or NX a plus).

* Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; AutoCAD required. NX a plus.
