BASIC FUNCTION:
The Materials Manager leads all material flow, logistics, and customer service operations to ensure products move efficiently from suppliers through production and out to MUVIQ customers. This role drives on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and operational reliability across the entire supply chain.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee inbound, internal, and outbound material flow to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
- Lead logistics, warehousing, transportation, and distribution activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels through effective planning, scheduling, and material control processes.
- Direct the production planning and scheduling function to ensure effective utilization of materials and manufacturing resources.
- Coordinate engineering changes to ensure timely phase-in of new components and phase-out of obsolete materials with minimal disruption to production or customer delivery.
- Track key performance metrics including inventory accuracy, delivery performance, logistics costs, and service levels; analyze data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise, coach, and develop the materials, logistics, and planning teams to support operational objectives and continuous improvement.
- Support purchasing activities as needed, including supplier coordination, material availability support, and cost-out initiatives.
- Resolve material flow issues, delivery delays, and supplier-related challenges through cross-functional collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, IATF 16949, corporate policies, and customer-specific requirements.
- Prepared and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and capital expenditure requests as required.
- Support new product launches, quoting activities, and make-versus-buy evaluations through material cost and supply chain analysis.
- Maintain departmental standards for organization, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Serve on project or permanent teams as required to address special issues or problems.
- Provide leadership in establishing goals for continuous improvement that support organizational goals.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide medical physics quality assurance, testing, and consulting services as needed to fulfill its mission. These testing activities will involve MRI, CT, X-ray, mammography, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound. In addition, some nuclear medicine consulting and licensing activities will be performed.
- Provide ACR MRI, CT, NM/PET, US, and mammography accreditation services and data review to customers within the state of Arkansas and surrounding states.
- Occasionally speak at seminars, trade shows, and represent WEST PHYSICS’ vendor booth at such events to bring in new business and enhance the company’s reputation. This will involve delivering lectures, presentations, etc., for these events.
- Perform dosimetry review, worker and patient dose estimates, fetal dose estimates, and conduct dose investigations and ALARA reviews.
- Perform shielding designs and conduct shielding verification/integrity testing.
- Assist medical physicists and senior medical physicists with diagnostic radiology equipment testing.
- Other related duties as needed.
Prerequisites:
- M.S. degree (M.S.) in Medical Physics or a physics-related discipline. (Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, etc.)
- Solid foundation in radiation physics, radiation biology, electronics, and other areas relevant to equipment quality assurance testing.
- At least 3 years of documented experience in the diagnostic imaging/clinical environment.
- Must meet current ACR requirements for the performance of accreditation-related testing of MRI and CT units.
- MQSA approved (preferred).
- High-level interpersonal skills, the ability to make presentations to large groups, and the capability to work independently and exhibit intellectual flexibility.
- Flexibility to travel up to one week a month until trained.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple projects at a given time.
- Candidate must be willing and open to be trained on new opportunities and activities to enhance the technical skill set.

Key Responsibilities Provide technical direction in areas such as reactor and fluid systems design, reactor physics, materials development, component design for steam generators, pumps, and valves, instrumentation and control for reactor and propulsion plants, testing and quality control, radiation shielding, and chemistry and radiological controls; review designs and analyses from laboratories, shipyards, and industry partners; coordinate with fleet units to ensure safe and reliable nuclear plant operation.

Key Responsibilities: Field Service Operations: Perform installations, commissioning, emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits, and training at customer sites.
Technical Modifications: Execute mechanical and electrical modifications, including PLC programming and servo drive configuration.
Customer Engagement: Conduct site meetings to explain job scope, review work completed, and train customer personnel on equipment operation, functionality, and maintenance.
Service Excellence: Meet service delivery objectives such as response time, first-time fix rates, and customer satisfaction.

Job Details Qualifications: Educational Background: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electrical and Computer Engineering (EECS), or Industrial Electronics preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components, as well as HMI systems.
Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronics and mechanical issues in the field.
PLC Programming: Experience with AB CompactLogix PLCs and RSLogix500/5000, including making minor modifications to PLC programs and troubleshooting network issues through PLCs.
Technical Interpretation: Ability to interpret complex technical information, including schematics, related to mechanics and electronics.
Drive Configuration: Experience with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) parameter configuration and setting up Servo drives and motors.
Licenses: Valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for a U.S.
passport.
