Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a manufacturing production team to work injury-free/incident free in a manufacturing environment. They will provide leadership and direction for their team in a way that motivates them to meet all productivity, safety, and quality goals. They are driven to continually improve performance and embrace changes that will help both their team and company meet production standards. They normally will lead a team of 10-20 team members.

This position will be located at our plant in Endicott, NY.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensures a safe workplace is maintained and there is a safety mindset in all things we do
• Follows, and ensures others follow, all policies, standards, and safety requirements defined by the company
• Drives safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards
• Hires, schedules, and supervises full time staff and additional temporary staff
• Provides coaching and corrective feedback timely as well as administers disciplinary processes up to and including termination, as necessary
• Performs timely quarterly and annual reviews for all team members
• Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution
• Oversees all process documentation and training program procedures for consistency of operational tasks, and the safety and cleanliness of the workplace
• Ensures a quality product is being produced and all quality processes are being followed
• Works directly with Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance, to improve quality, streamline efficiencies and reduce operating expenses
• Tracks productivity for measured efficiency and improvement and operates at or below the budgeted cost for production utilizing lean manufacturing procedures and cross training
• Oversees adherence to inventory control procedures to ensure inventory accuracy goals are constantly achieved
• Assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues
• Performs other duties as requested by management

Job Requirements

• Minimum one year of supervisory experience required, manufacturing environment preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
• Ability to perform basic mathematical skills such as calculating percentages and volumes

Job Compensation/Benefits

• The annual salary is $70,000-85,000
• $2500 sign on bonus

Summary Description:

• High level design position involved in non-routine and complex assignments. Project Engineers and Project Architects work with the Project Manager to develop design solutions of a specific discipline which are incorporated into contract documents by the design team. While these positions are primarily technical, assistance with some project management duties is likely.

Primary Duties:

• Assist the PM in developing design parameters, scopes of service and person-hour estimates during the proposal stage
• Assign individual work tasks and provide guidance to subordinate team members of that design discipline. Discuss the desired expectations of the delegated work including the amount of time estimated to complete the work
• Responsible for the quality control of work products (e.g., reports, studies, drawings, letters, calculations, memos, etc.) for the specific discipline
• Responsible for the preparation of technical specifications
• Responsible for the processing of shop drawings and submittals
• Considers alternate designs and value engineering
• Responsible for meeting scheduled deadlines
• Monitor performance of project team members and provide feedback to the Project Manager. Discuss potential corrective action with the Project Manager as required
• Attend and/or lead client meetings/presentations – daytime or evenings
• Communicate with client representatives, contractors, suppliers, etc
• Participate and or lead site visits/inspections/documentation during construction

Job Title : Nuclear Engineer (Naval Reactors Engineer) Category / Component : Officer • Active Overview Design, regulate, and oversee the Navy's nuclear propulsion program, including reactor design, fleet operations, and eventual defueling and decommissioning of nuclear powered ships and submarines from Naval Reactors Headquarters and associated Department of Energy laboratories and shipyards.

Key Responsibilities Provide technical direction in areas such as reactor and fluid systems design, reactor physics, materials development, component design for steam generators, pumps, and valves, instrumentation and control for reactor and propulsion plants, testing and quality control, radiation shielding, and chemistry and radiological controls; review designs and analyses from laboratories, shipyards, and industry partners; coordinate with fleet units to ensure safe and reliable nuclear plant operation.

What to Expect Assume significant technical responsibility early in your career as part of a lean headquarters staff; work primarily in an analytical and oversight role rather than operating plants at sea; balance long term engineering projects with time sensitive fleet and shipyard issues; frequent coordination with senior civilian engineers, naval officers, and technical teams; high expectations for attention to detail, judgment, and written and oral communication.

Our firm is working with a growing Manufacturing plant in the Southern Tier of Upstate NY. They are looking for Senior Design Engineers to lead the development of advanced mechanical componentsResponsibilities

• Develop, design, and test fixtures and tools for various machining
• Develop manufacturing routings and analyze engineering change notices
• Participate in design for manufacturability reviews
• Lead product/process improvements and cost out initiatives.
• Perform root cause analysis
• Program CNC for various milling, turning and operations and ensure optimum cycle time and tools selection.

Qualifications and requirements

• 10 years+ in a shop floor manufacturing environment preferably aerospace products
• US Citizen
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or Master degree with 7 years of experience.
• Must have at least 5-years of CAD 3D & 2D drawings software experience preferably Creo and Esprit Edge CNC programming.
• Lean Six-Sigma process improvement experience
• At least 3-years experience in designing fixtures and tools for machining operations and assemblies
• Familiarity with vacuum and dip brazing processes
