About the Role


Kolon TissueGene, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Clinical Quality Assurance responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System and other programs to support Clinical Operations and commercialization of biopharmaceutical products. This role will ensure that all Clinical QA details are managed efficiently and exhibit continuous improvement.


Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, this role will support Inspection Readiness, regulatory Inspections, Quality policies and procedures. The Associate Director, Quality Assurance will work with Clinical Operations and Regulatory Affairs to ensure adherence to KTG policies, programs, and procedures in support of commercialization. A fundamental measure of success for the position will be a successful BLA Approval Inspection and launch of commercialized drug products.

Key Responsibilities


Quality Systems Leadership

  • Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), including Change Control, Deviations, Complaints, Vendor Management, and Audit programs.
  • Ensure quality processes and systems meet FDA and global regulatory expectations.
  • Oversee electronic quality systems supporting training management and GxP document control.

Clinical Quality Oversight

  • Drive the GCP Quality strategy across clinical development programs.

  • Review and approve clinical and nonclinical documentation, including protocols, amendments, deviations, CAPAs, and change controls.

Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a related discipline required
  • Advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent) preferred


Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 8 years demonstrated experience of direct interaction with FDA and other regulatory agencies through GCP, Pre-Approval/BLA Inspections, and Investigator Site inspections.
  • 6+ years of leadership experience in Clinical Quality Assurance roles
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Experience working with Clinical Operations and Regulatory Affairs teams in regulated development environments
  • Experience in cell and gene therapy programs or advanced biologics preferred

  • Lead proactive tracking of embassy rotations, staffing changes, and regional developments in Salesforce, and facilitate timely senior leadership correspondence and organizational awareness in alignment with the Diplomatic Engagement Strategy Framework. 
  • Coordinate and support Ambassador-level invitations and engagement asks in collaboration with Center leadership, ensuring timely, protocol-appropriate outreach and follow-up.
  • Monitor new foreign ambassador credentialing ceremonies; coordinate with MCDE Regional Portfolio Managers, Embassy Relationship Managers, and Executive Office to set up and provide briefings for meetings.
  • Maintain and enrich the Salesforce database with up-to-date contact and relationship details for all Diplomatic Engagement activities, including but not limited to contact records, event attendance, business development campaigns, and speaker opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage Ambassador gift inventory, including tracking distribution in Salesforce and coordinating with relevant teams to ensure appropriate gifting for receptions and high-level engagements.
  • Conduct research on international affairs and diplomatic trends, contributing timely and germane ideas to inform program development.

Administration (15%)

  •   Backstop financial administration for MCDE, including support for monthly expense reports (receipt collection and tracking, missing receipt documentation), payment and reimbursement requests, and coordination with Development on event-related payments as needed.
  • Backstop monitoring and evaluation efforts through data analytics of registration, speaker diversity, diplomatic attendance, and other program evaluation metrics, contributing to reporting on program deliverables and institutional DEIA commitments.
  • Support technical aspects of hybrid and virtual events as needed, including setup and production of Zoom webinars and meetings and coordination with audio/visual tools. 
  • Arrange travel, accommodation, and other logistical concerns for program speakers and guests as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Engagement, Growth, and Partnerships team on cross-cutting initiatives, contributing programmatic and operational support as appropriate.

  • Participate in structured testing to verify reliability during active grant cycles, training cohorts, and reporting periods

Support & Operations


  • Manage a tier-one support queue for staff and external partners using the portal
  • Triage issues, resolve common problems, and escalate technical issues as needed 


Communication, Training & Documentation


  • Serve as a liaison between Information Systems and program teams
  • Create and maintain internal documentation, user guides, and training materials
  • Facilitate onboarding and training sessions for staff using portal workflows 


Project Coordination & Visibility


  • Track work, priorities, and progress using and related tools
  • Provide clear updates to stakeholders and ensure next steps are well-defined
  • Participate in structured cross-team coordination, including regular standing meetings, trainings, and project check-ins with program grant-making and training teams


Qualifications & Experience


Required


  • 2–5 years of experience in product, operations, project management, or a role that required translating between stakeholders and systems
  • Comfort learning and working within complex web-based platforms.  Position doesn’t require coding or building, but does need curiosity and ability to learn our systems architecture
  • Experience keeping quality and testing processes organized, whether in a formal QA role or as part of broader operational responsibilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of keeping non-technical stakeholders informed and aligned
  • Highly organized with a bias toward documentation, follow-through, and closing the loop


Preferred


  • Experience managing a support queue, triaging requests, or maintaining an operational backlog in a structured way
  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, a learning management system, web applications, or similar platforms used across programs and operations
  • Comfort using AI tools to improve documentation, triage, and workflow efficiency
  • Experience working within an agile or structured project delivery framework
  • Drawn to mission-driven work and motivated to understand the programs and people the platform serves
