We are seeking accomplished, self-motivated engineers to design, analyze, test, and certify flight control systems and components for large commercial aircraft. Position Responsibilities:

  • Resolve airplane level requirements into system level requirements and resolve system level requirements into component requirements with time and cost efficient validation methods.

  • Develop and evaluate system and subsystem architecture alternatives to meet project objectives and requirements.

  • Conduct trade studies to analyze and compare alternatives, rapidly converging on preferred configurations through system simulations and development test programs.

  • Lead and participate in system, component, and detailed design efforts, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to schedule and cost constraints to produce error-free, manufacturable specifications and drawings.

  • Lead and support system- and component-level validation activities, including test plan development, consultation on iron bird and test rig setups, test monitoring, analysis, report authoring, supplier test report review and approval, failure analysis, and mitigation strategies.

  • Drive certification efforts by creating required artifacts such as system safety analyses, failure modes and effects analyses (FMEA), and fault tree analyses (FTA); ensure traceability to regulatory requirements and resolve any regulatory conflicts.

  • Support ongoing production by promptly addressing build issues at Boeing and supplier facilities, identifying and implementing design improvements to enhance build accuracy, production rate, and line safety, and resolving rejections, functional test failures, and flight squawks.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to support global fleet operations, responding to airline and regulator inquiries, leading resolution of Service Related Problems (SRPs), and analyzing flight incidents to inform Safety Review Board (SRB) recommendations for the Continued Operational Safety Program (COSP).

  • Collaborate effectively across functions and organizations within and outside Boeing, including manufacturing, avionics, crew operations, airplane safety, aerodynamics, supply chain management, BCA systems software, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett or Renton, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 1+ years of technical experience in an aerospace or similar regulated industry environment.

 This is an exciting time in the program as we partner with our US Air Force customer for enhanced mission systems upgrades as well as new international customers to grow the business.

 In this role you will be responsible for the engineering management of an integrated communication suite and aircraft navigations subsystem of electronics hardware.  Leadership responsibilities will include management of the engineering team responsible for all aspects of the avionics hardware, including the design/architecture, integration, lab/aircraft testing, airworthiness certification, new business proposals, and supplier technical management.  In addition, you will be in charge of managing the financial labor and material budgets as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the team.The Boeing KC-46 “Pegasus” is the new US Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift.  The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per US Air Force specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft.  The KC-46 accomplishes this refueling mission using either the Hose & Drogue or the Boom systems, which are capable of transferring fuel at rates of 400 or 1,200 gallons per minute, respectively.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Environmental Control Systems (ECS) team is looking for a highly motivated Principal Electrical System and Design Analysis Engineer to join our team in Everett, WA. This Individual will work within the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Environmental Control Systems organization to develop, produce, deliver and support customers who fly Boeing airplanes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead design, integration, and verification of electrical subsystems across assigned programs.

  • Own and drive key electrical design elements from concept through to delivery and certification.

  • Provide technical leadership and decision-making on cross-program electrical engineering issues.

  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level electrical engineers; establish best practices and design standards.

  • Coordinate with systems engineering, integration, and test teams to ensure timely milestone delivery.

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks; propose contingency plans to protect schedule and quality.

  • Document and transfer institutional knowledge to sustain long-term program continuity.

  • Serves as technical consultant for disposition, corrective actions and coordination with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements relative to production processes.

  • Works under consultative direction.

Work Authorization:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering for aerospace or related high-reliability systems.

  • 10+ years of experience using IVT (Integration Visualization Tool)

  • 10+ years of experience leading development programs within Boeing Commercial Airplanes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with, or a strong willingness to learn about, high-pressure systems in a sustaining program environment.

  • Navigate effectively in Enovia, PDM, CATIA V5, and IVT/Flythru.
