What you’ll achieve
As a  Signal Integrity Principal Engineer , you’ll drive innovation across Dell’s enterprise hardware portfolio, i.e. Power Edge Servers, AI Servers, storage products. You’ll solve complex transmission-line challenges, guide best practices, and collaborate with internal teams and Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) partners to push what’s possible in high frequency designs.
You will:
Build, validate, and correlate advanced Signal Integrity (SI) simulation models; Develop simulation strategies to characterize worst-case conditions across manufacturing and environmental variations

Analyze electrical designs and define routing/material/interconnect solutions for new highspeed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, xGMI, UPI, etc…

Perform channel simulations across packages and PCBs

Work with IBIS-AMI, S-parameter models, and tools like Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, Cadence Allegro, and other leading industry tools

Optimize interconnects to meet insertion loss, return loss, eye diagram, and BER targets

Lead SI design reviews and influence platform wide best practices

Own electrical validation test plan development and support issue resolution

Collaborate with key technology suppliers on future-facing guidelines, tools, and ecosystem challenges

Essential Requirements
8+ years of experience in signal integrity role or equivalent skill; must have experience with server design and experience with both Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) and Double Data Rate (DDR) interfaces

Strong fundamentals in transmission lines, electromagnetic (EM) fields, and analog/digital theory

Proficiency with SI simulation tools e.g. High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), SiWave, Advanced Design System (ADS); hands-on experience with Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), and other SI test equipment

Ability to perform Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout reviews using Allegro, Xpedition, or similar

Proven collaboration with customers and crossfunctional teams

Desirable Requirements
Bachelor's degree in either electrical engineering or computer engineering

- Conduct thermal, mechanical, and reliability testing, analyzing airflow, coolant flow rates, pressure drops, and structural integrity to ensure compliance with the end-users’ specifications.
- Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, wetted materials compliance, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Manage relationships with mechanical/thermal component vendors to build out a robust partner ecosystem consisting of racks, CDUs, hoses, manifolds, QDs, and cold plates.
- Ensure mechanical designs support airflow management, thermal containment, and integration with cooling systems (e.g., in-row cooling, in-rack cooling, rear door heat exchangers).
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical and thermal failures or field issues.

What You Will Do

The individual Engineering Functional Task Leaders (Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Logistic Engineering, Technical Publications, etc.) report to and take direction from the Project Engineer for the assigned program operations. In addition, Project Engineers are the key technical interfaces to Customers and have the responsibility to interact with Customers at every phase of the program lifecycle.

The Project Engineering candidate will also help with the capture of new business and development of bid estimates and technical responses.

Essential Functions:

* Provide engineering leadership to a cross-functional team to resolve design and integration challenges
* Lead the engineering team to create and deliver formal Design Review presentations including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR
* Track Engineering Performance Metrics and brief program status on a monthly basis to senior engineering leadership
* Track cost and schedule execution and be able to explain any variances and the path to get back to program targets
* Provide leadership for cross-functional teams in bid/proposal and program planning including BOE generation and Technical Volume responses to customer ROMs, RFIs, and RFPs
* Setup bid tools used during bid generation and track required completion status.
* Ensure program execution and Bid/Proposal development are in accordance with engineering processes and policies
* Ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and safety standards
* Ability to travel as needed based on business demands

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
* Experience in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget.
* Experience in Bid and Proposal development
* Experience in one of the following disciplines:

* Aero Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Flight Sciences)
* Software/Hardware Engineering
* Systems Engineering (including Test Engineering)
* Project Engineering

* An active DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Additional Skills:

* Demonstrated experience in leadership by being a Task Leader, IPT Leader, and/or Functional Manager, or other similar leadership roles
