Sales Design Engineer – CEA (Controlled Environment Agriculture)
Role Overview
The Sales Design Engineer for CEA plays a critical role at the intersection of sales, engineering, and customer solutions. This position supports the sales process by translating customer needs into technically sound, well-designed CEA systems, while helping ensure feasibility, accuracy, and alignment between sales commitments and execution.
This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to develop conceptual designs, validate system requirements, and support proposals for CEA projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sales team by developing conceptual and preliminary CEA system designs based on customer requirements
- Translate customer goals into technical layouts, system concepts, and solution narratives
- Assist with technical scoping, system feasibility, and early-stage design considerations during the sales process
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure designs align with engineering standards, cost assumptions, and operational capabilities
- Provide technical input for proposals, presentations, and sales documentation
- Participate in customer discussions as a technical resource when appropriate
- Identify risks, constraints, or design considerations early in the sales cycle to support accurate selling

This role will receive hands-on training and mentorship from senior leadership and subject-matter experts within the organization. Qualifications (Initial)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
- Background in engineering, design, or a technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience with CEA systems, greenhouse design, or related agricultural or industrial systems required
- AutoCAD or Visio experience
- Knowledge of Project Management processes
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to think both conceptually and systemically

This person will be responsible for performing various Quality activities whose main purpose is to facilitate continuous improvement for both products and processes and to support new product/process development activities. Qualifications
- BS Degree in a Technical /an Engineering discipline.
- 3 years minimum experience within manufacturing environment, with experience in manufacturing, quality, or process engineering preferred.
- Medical device experience is preferred.
- CQE certification a plus.
- Must have knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA/QSR Regulations
- Strong computer skills with software applications for Microsoft Windows including Excel, Word and Minitab.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels both verbally and in writing.
- A self starter able to function independently with minimum direction.

Position Summary

Manufacturing Support

Position Description
Job Summary:
The Yard Person/Plant Operator is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the quarry site and assisting in the efficient operation of quarry processing equipment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, organized, and productive working environment while adhering to company policies and industry standards.
Essential Functions:
- Results Matter. Safely load, unload, stockpile, and organize aggregate materials using loaders, forklifts, and other heavy equipment to support efficient quarry operations.

Position Requirements
Requirements, Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant industry experience in quarry operations, construction materials, mining, or heavy industrial environments strongly preferred.
- Stick/MIG welding, fabrication, and cutting experience preferred.
- High mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment required.
- Prior experience as a Quarry Plant Operator or similar role strongly preferred.
- Experience operating and supporting maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, loaders, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong work ethic with a demonstrated history of punctuality, reliability, and consistent attendance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven estimating professional with knowledge in construction, building automation systems, and client relations. In this role, you will review bid requests, develop project quotes, follow up with customers, and support our sales team. Success in this position requires a strong understanding of BMS technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to cultivate lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bid Review: Assess and qualify incoming project bids (RFPs).
- Project Quoting: Develop accurate pricing for project proposals.
- Proposal Development: Create detailed proposals for client review.
- Customer Engagement: Maintain communication with clients through follow-up emails and calls.
- Sales Support: Assist the sales team with document updates, proposal development, and order processing.
- CRM Management: Keep HubSpot CRM up to date with proposals, communications, bid amounts, key dates and provide management with project sales reports.
Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience with construction, BMS, electrical or engineering bid processes is essential.
- Knowledge of control wiring installation methods.
- Familiarity with National Electric Code preferred but not required.
- Electrical license or college degree preferred but not required.
- Ability to articulate the unique benefits of our solutions to clients.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all aspects of the estimating process.
- Ability to analyze market trends and apply cost data effectively.
- Strong collaboration skills to work with sales, engineering, product development, and customer support teams.
- Persuasive communicator, strong commercial acumen, decisive under tight proposal deadlines.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex project requirements and develop accurate estimates.
- Strong understanding and experience with CRM systems.
