The primary functions of the Project Manager is to plan, manage, and implement engineering improvement projects with the objective of delivering improved engineering quality for the client by ensuring engineering processes, systems, and resources are integrated and optimized to achieve performance goals. The position requires a working knowledge of power industry design and construction practices, standards, and processes as well as the use of independent judgment, enhanced verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision with the support of a team consisting of local and remote resources. The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor's or Associates degree in Engineering or Technology, Business, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited curriculum, and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience with at least two years' experience independently managing design or construction projects.
Desired PM Functions:
- Successfully deliver on rapid-response special projects, including but not limited to, gathering data, meeting with stakeholders and documenting findings, development of special reports, etc.
- Perform detailed project audits at various design stage gates
- Evaluate new engineering project scope documents, identify risks, develop response plans for implementation by the larger project team
- Identify, document, assign, track, and facilitate completion of improvement projects
- Manage continuous improvement opportunity information system, including intake of new opportunities, tracking and communicating of status, progress, and coordination with larger team to communicate barriers and get them resolved.
- Investigate high impact project issues and perform root cause analyses (RCA) to assist in driving continuous quality improvement efforts
- Work with information management and other resources to generate relevant reports and/or bulletins to communicate performance metrics, status of activities, etc.
- Identify target areas for improvement opportunities based on reports and results of audits, analyses, etc.
- Utilize outstanding interpersonal skills to provide guidance and mentorship to client resources according to needs identified in various reports.
- Initiate projects: Complete project planning documents, which include detailed scope/schedule outline for completion while looking for and finding ways to improve operations; process efficiency
- Project Definition: Assist Project Team in defining/clarifying project scope and level of detail required, satisfying customer expectations and projecting requirements.
- Maintain Project Status: Keep the project status reporting system current with the actions and changes that take place on assigned projects
- Manage Project Implementation: Leads assigned project team, ensuring that project goals/objectives are achieved, and all business processes and applicable procedures are followed
- Communicate effectively with project team, client, and 3rd parties as required to facilitate coordination of activities
- Coordinate/Communicate with peers: Work with project team to identify, document and resolve changes that may impact performance of projects
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Capable of handling broad scope projects that have medium to long-term focus and applying knowledge to handle complex problems independently under the direction of a Program Manager and/or client management personnel.
- Possess solid verbal and written communications skills. Ability to coordinate with and interface with contractors, vendors, engineers, colleagues, and other electric utilities personnel at a high professional level

This position supports municipal and land development projects by contributing to the planning, review, and construction oversight of public and private infrastructure improvements. The engineer collaborates with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and clients to help move projects from concept through completion.

Provide Safety Health and Environmental leadership and training to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance. This is primarily a support role working under the site EHS Manager. Assisting with the administration of compliance programs, procedures, and policies. This role may also act as a liaison with regulatory agencies when necessary.

Key Responsibilities
- Supportive role providing Health, Safety and Environmental direction, leadership, and training to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance
- Contribute to and support compliance programs, procedures, and policies and acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies when necessary

Required Education And Experience

We are seeking a highly skilled, technically proficient and detail-oriented Principal Mechanical Engineer with expertise in metal structures, frame design, pipes and fabrication to support the development of power and cooling infrastructure for data centers. This role is critical in designing robust mechanical systems that house and support electrical and thermal management equipment, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
What will you do?
- Experience designing and integrating hydronic systems including pumps, piping networks, valves, and heat exchangers for data center cooling applications.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing for chilled water and glycol-based systems.
- Understanding of installation constraints, maintenance access, and serviceability in large-scale mechanical infrastructure.

We are seeking a highly skilled, technically proficient and detail-oriented Principal Mechanical Engineer with expertise in metal structures, frame design, pipes and fabrication to support the development of power and cooling infrastructure for data centers. This role is critical in designing robust mechanical systems that house and support electrical and thermal management equipment, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
What will you do?
- Experience designing and integrating hydronic systems including pumps, piping networks, valves, and heat exchangers for data center cooling applications.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing for chilled water and glycol-based systems.
- Understanding of installation constraints, maintenance access, and serviceability in large-scale mechanical infrastructure.
- Design and develop mechanical frames, enclosures, and support structures for data center power and cooling products (UPS systems, battery racks, CRAC units, containment systems, LVS, MVS).
- Perform advanced structural analysis using FEA tools to validate mechanical integrity under static, dynamic, seismic, and thermal loads.
- Analyze load paths, stress concentrations, and fatigue life of structural components to ensure long-term reliability.
- Design metal enclosures with considerations for airflow, thermal containment, EMI shielding, and environmental protection.
- Evaluate and implement new materials, coatings, and fabrication technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Participate in customer engagements and site visits to understand deployment constraints and gather feedback for design improvements.
- Create detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings, including weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts
- Select appropriate materials and fabrication methods to optimize cost, performance, and reliability
- Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and systems engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with functional components.
- Lead mechanical design reviews and contribute to cross-functional design validation efforts.
- Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, and performance optimization.
- Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve fabrication issues and ensure quality standards are met.
- Support lifecycle management of mechanical components, including obsolescence planning and alternate sourcing.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures or field issues.
- Ensure mechanical designs support airflow management, thermal containment, and integration with cooling systems (in-row cooling, rear door heat exchangers).
