We are seeking a senior Project Engineer III to join a leading heavy industrial engineering firm at the forefront of modular power generation solutions supporting next-generation digital infrastructure. This is a high-impact technical leadership role for an experienced boiler and steam generation engineer ready to apply their expertise to one of the fastest-growing sectors in energy — dedicated power generation for large-scale data center campuses.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, customers, A/E firms, vendors, sublet engineers, fabricators, and site erectors. Lead technical discussions during customer project meetings, manage engineering change control, monitor man-hour expenditures, and coordinate resolution of engineering errors and field issues through construction and commissioning of boiler and steam generation systems.

What We're Looking For

- 12–15 years of relevant engineering experience in boiler systems, steam generation, or fired equipment

Part-Time Opportunities
There are part-time opportunities available as an Information Professional Officer.
Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Information Professional Officers in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
For annual training, Information Professional Officers may serve anywhere in the world, whether on a ship at sea or at bases and installations on shore.

As a Project Manager you’re responsible for all aspects of multiple construction projects for the duration of projects assigned; lead the project teams with the project executive(s) and represent Independence Construction to the client; work with IC executives on business development to secure future work.
- Develop Site Specific Safety Plans with Project Team, with assistance from company Safety personnel. Ensure safety is discussed at project morning huddles
- Work with estimating department on project bids and pre-construction phase for assigned projects. Assist in preparing Bid Packaging strategies and bidding Scopes of Work
- Prepare and review project schedules from pre-construction phase through close-out
- Working with estimating department, Initiate and award subcontracts to vendors and subcontractors during pre-construction phase; issue change orders as necessary.
- Develop and revise project budgets, as necessary
- On a monthly basis, prepare, monitor, and present Job Cost reports (i.e., budgets, GC expenditures, budget revisions, change orders and gross profit projections) for all projects assigned to Management and Company Controller

How will you make an impact?
We are looking for a Principal Thermal Rack Engineer within the Intelligent Infrastructure Segment to drive advanced cooling solutions for high-performance computing systems. This role involves incorporating thermal components such as direct liquid cooling (DLC) systems, coolant distribution units (CDUs), and manifolds into network and server racks (EIA 19” and ORv3). You will leverage CFD tools to perform rack and system-level thermal and fluid analysis, ensuring optimal flow distribution, pressure drop, and temperature performance. Additionally, you will create 3D CAD designs for seamless hardware integration, lead validation testing, and resolve thermal or flow issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
