* Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations and manage a variety of neurological conditions in both inpatients and outpatients.
* Provide stroke expertise, as stroke-like symptoms are a frequent presentation.
* See new consults, conduct follow-up visits, and manage consults from the internal medicine and family medicine residency programs.
* Participate in resident education and Grand Rounds, fostering a stimulating learning environment.
* Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the Cerner EMR system.
* Qualifications for Success:
* Current board certification in Neurology or eligibility with board certification achievable within 3 years (BE/BO) is mandatory.
* Valid and active medical license in the state of Iowa or an Interstate Medical License Compact (IMLC) is preferred.
* Current certifications in BLS and ACLS (obtainable by start date) and a DEA registration (obtainable by start date) are required.
* Comfort with stroke management and a passion for resident education are essential.
* Experience with EEG, EMG, epilepsy, sleep studies, multiple sclerosis, and movement disorders is a plus.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, residents, and colleagues.
* The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is crucial.
