Position Summary
We are seeking a Product Development Engineer with proven experience in mechatronics or electromechanical systems to support and advance our expanding portfolio of vehicle electronic components. This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership supporting new product introductions, driving validation and analysis, advancing R&D initiatives, and serving as a technical partner to our commercial teams. This successful candidate will bridge mechanical and electrical disciplines to ensure products meet rigorous OE-level performance standards while remaining commercially competitive. This position is based onsite at our Foothill Ranch, CA facility to support hands-on product work and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support new product development across our portfolio, including solenoids, sensors, pressure switches, relays, HMI cockpit switches, fuel pumps and other categories.
- Execute design validation, functional and performance testing, and failure/root-cause analysis on electromechanical systems.
- Collaborate with global suppliers and contract manufacturers to review designs, drawings, specifications, and tooling readiness.
- Develop and maintain test plans, validation protocols, and engineering documentation.
- Provide technical expertise to the commercial organization during customer meetings, presentations, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with supply chain and quality teams to ensure supplier capability, PPAP readiness, and adherence to engineering standards.
- Benchmark competitive products to identify design improvements, failure modes, and innovation opportunities.
- Provide technical input to catalog, data, and marketing teams (e.g., specifications, connector details, electrical performance).
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (SAE, ISO, IATF, RoHS, REACH) and internal engineering practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with cross-disciplinary experience.
- 3–7 years of demonstrated experience in product development, validation, or applied R&D, preferably within automotive, or electromechanical components.
- Solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical principles, including circuit behavior, actuation, sealing, wear, and durability.
- Hands-on proficiency with validation equipment (e.g., thermal chambers, vibration rigs, load frames, electrical cycling).
- Strong background in CAD, design analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, and related processes.
- Proven problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, supply chain, product development, marketing, and commercial teams.
- Experience working with global manufacturing and supply chain environments is a plus.
- Ability to work onsite at our Foothill Ranch, CA facility.

Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect technical insights to business problems.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $138,810.

What you have:
Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of related actuarial/business/analytical experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
2 years of actuarial or analytical business experience.
3 Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams.
Experience with relevant actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques and approaches used to support fact-based decision-making.
Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect technical insights to business problems.
What sets you apart:
Familiarity with Excel and at least one programming language or modeling software package (Python, SQL, R, SAS, etc.).
Demonstrated experience with basic actuarial pricing methodologies.
Demonstrated experience aggregating and analyzing data to solve problems.
Ability to effectively communicate insights and solutions to broad audiences including actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders.
P&C Personal Lines pricing experience.
Familiarity and experience with industry pricing software such as Earnix.
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120 - $138,810.
