About the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the School's graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

In addition to the main campus in Atlanta, Georgia, ECE also has permanent operations at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in France and Georgia Tech-Shenzhen in China. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent.

The school seeks individuals with demonstrated outstanding leadership in research and undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates should have an excellent record of scholarship. The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of todays technological world. To do so, we provide enhanced facilities and laboratories to create the best learning environment and we attract outstanding faculty and students. In this period of rapid technological change, the Woodruff School produces mechanical engineers who are vital to our future.

With approximately 3,000 students, 100 faculty members, and 80 staff members, the Woodruff School is one of the largest mechanical engineering programs in the country. The Financial Administrator is responsible for assisting with financial operations of a department or unit, interpreting, advising and disseminating financial policies and procedures; ensuring that unit accounting practices and procedures follow Institute guidelines and recommending improvements to unit procedures. This role assists in preparation of unit budgets and reports, and implementing accounting and office controls.

Job Duty 1 -
Prepare financial data related to proposals, grants and contracts, general appropriations, endowments and other funds.

Prepare data for use in budget amendments and other budget related reporting.

Job Duty 3 -
Oversee student accounting functions; coordinates with Financial Aid and Registrar's Office to resolve student payment issues; works with Continuing Education credit and non-credit program invoicing and payment issues; provides service to students and parents, including resolving intermediate issues.

Job Duty 4 -
Monitor non-student receivable accounts; perform direct billing and payment processing, answers customer queries; and ensure reconciliations are completed on a timely basis.

Job Duty 5 -
Monitor gift and endowment accounts to ensure compliance; monitors overdrafts; and posts scholarship awards in student system.

Job Duty 6 -
Monitor unit budgets for overdrafts and review for compliance with budget regulations and grant requirements or restrictions; prepares budget amendments and other pertinent forms for new accounts.

Job Duty 7 -
Ensure timely reconciliations are completed for assigned ledger and clearing accounts within administrative areas; perform adjustments.

Job Duty 8 -
Coordinate cash management for administrative areas (deposits, reconciliation of accounts and controls over cash and credit card processing); works with Financial Reporting on banking discrepancies.

The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering has quietly resided among the top 5 aerospace engineering schools in the country for more than a decade - attracting the best minds to study on our Atlanta campus. With a faculty of more than 40 tenure-track professors and enrollment of more than 1,800, the School brings both breadth and depth to its research, scholarship, and instruction that few institutions can match. The Aerospace Engineering School at Georgia Tech is currently ranked #2 (Sept. 2025) in the nation for undergraduate programs and #2 (April 2025) in the nation for graduate programs.

The Manager of Finance serves as a key operational leader within the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering (AE) Finance team and provides dedicated financial support to both AE and the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL). This role oversees daily financial operations, supervising and developing a team responsible for processing and reviewing routine financial transactions, monitoring budgets, reconciling accounts, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data across state, sponsored, and other funding sources. The Manager ensures timely financial reporting, compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements, and effective internal controls. Working closely with AE administrative partners and ASDLs Executive Director and senior research leadership, the position provides financial analysis, operational guidance, and budget oversight to support research activities, resource planning, and the successful execution of complex academic and research initiatives.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Conceive, plan, and conduct individual research in broad areas relevant to the mission of the laboratory (imaging, therapy and contrast/therapeutic agents.
• Serve as the technical lead for the laboratory in your area of expertise.
• Plan and direct a number of collaborative research projects including coordination of research activities between groups and disciplines.
• Develop new instruments, materials, processes, scientific methods, approaches and algorithms.
• Responsible for directing others; plans, organizes, and supervises the work of laboratory scientists, engineers, and technicians. Evaluate progress and results obtained, recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives.
