Appointments are typically for one to three sections per term, up to three terms per year, resulting in total compensation of approximately $8,181 per section at 17% FTE per academic term, as of Summer 2025. This salary rate will increase in subsequent terms in accordance with the terms of the labor contract.

Position description
The School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a pool of part-time, non-tenure track lecturers to teach online courses in the Master of Information and Cybersecurity (MICS) program. We seek exceptional instructors with professional and/or academic expertise who can lead small, highly interactive sections of about 15 graduate students in this cutting-edge, online program.
Courses in the MICS program are pre-designed and structured, allowing instructors to focus on delivering dynamic and engaging learning experiences while bringing valuable expertise to advance student outcomes. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as the program evolves. The number of available positions may vary by semester based on the School's requirements.

Responsibilities Include:
Delivering Engaging Online Classes: Plan and lead synchronous online sessions focusing on active learning. Facilitate meaningful discussions, collaborative group activities, and practical exercises that enhance students' understanding and application of core concepts.
Facilitating Student-Centered Learning: Provide personalized support to students by holding virtual office hours, moderating online discussions, and leveraging student analytics to identify and support individual learning needs.
Designing and Refining Course Materials: Develop and update instructional materials, assignments, and assessments. Ensure all content aligns with program objectives, maintains academic rigor, and incorporates an inclusive and equitable learning environment.

Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills.

ATDP's mission is to enable all highly motivated and prepared students to pursue their academic passions through rigorous summer coursework in a community of like-minded peers.
ATDP's Learner Outcomes state that ATDP students will be able to:

Teacher Special Programs (TSP): The TSP will teach within ATDP's summer Elementary Division (ED, grades K-6), Secondary Division (SD, grades 7-12), or Global Programs (GP grades 7-12). This involves designing, and delivering age, grade, and achievement level student-centered curricula for a particular content area within the format and time parameters of a specific course, and whose teaching philosophy is aligned with ATDP's mission and Learner Outcomes.
ATDP unites teachers who love to teach with students who want to learn. We are in constant search of qualified, temporary, part-time, high-energy, passionate, and creative instructors, co-instructors, and instructional associates (IAs) for our summer courses. The School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a pool of part-time, non-tenure track lecturers to teach on-campus courses in the Master of Information Management and Systems. We seek exceptional instructors with professional and/or academic expertise who can teach courses for I School doctoral and master's level students and other UC Berkeley graduate students in related fields, as well as undergraduate courses. Position description
The Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a Postdoc in the Bouchard Lab, in the area of theoretical neuroscience. The Bouchard lab at UC Berkeley is an interdisciplinary team that focuses on understanding how distributed neural circuits give rise to coordinated behaviors and perceptions. There will be collaboration with the lab members at LBNL. We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to work at the interface of control theory, information theory, dynamical systems, statistical machine learning, and neural time-series data. The goal is to better understand principles and mechanisms underlying distributed brain network computations through the dual lenses of control theory and information theory. This position will focus on developing and applying theory, models, and methods that provide principled understanding of simultaneous multi-region, high-dimensional neural population dynamics from diverse brain areas.
The position is located at UC Berkeley (UCB), in collaboration with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and is part of a broader collaborative effort between UCSF, LBNL, UCB, and UC Davis. This Bay Area collaboration combines UCSF/UCD's strong clinical and experimental neuroscience experience with in vivo cortical electrophysiology, UCB's expertise in theoretical neuroscience, statistical learning and data analysis, LBNL's supercomputing and applied mathematics together with electronics and micro-fabrication. The Advanced BioImaging Center (ABC) in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a Professional Researcher at the Assistant, Associate, or Full rank. The position will report to Professor Gokul Upadhyayula, with Professor Eric Betzig serving as an additional academic mentor. The Advanced BioImaging Center (ABC) at UC Berkeley aspires to be a world-leading multidisciplinary imaging center that drives important biological discoveries through critical new advances in all aspects of imaging technology and that drives the dissemination of that technology through a multi-pronged education strategy to scientists around the world. ABC was intentionally designed to maximize scientific productivity and impact by adopting groundbreaking imaging technologies such as the next-generation adaptive optical multifunctional microscope, incorporating the high-level technical expertise of instrumentation scientists, applied mathematicians, and computational scientists, and building worldwide collaborations aimed at tackling the challenges posed by terabyte and petabyte-scale imaging data processing, visualization, and dissemination. Members of the ABC have access to leading - edge imaging and computing hardware, as well as exposure to collaborators from a range of diverse disciplines, including in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, and more.
This position will focus on advanced, independent research leading the ABC computational team to develop vision-transformer-based foundation machine learning models. The Researcher will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of optical physicists, engineers, and computational imaging researchers to achieve the ambitious goal of creating a generative AI model for segmenting and querying complex 4D high-resolution data of zebrafish development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to advancing biological imaging and AI-driven data analysis at the intersection of biology and computational science.
As this project grows, the individual will be expected to expand their leadership and adapt to the evolving scope of the research. The role will begin with leading efforts to supervise data collection and management, model development, and collaborating with leadership across the center. The researcher will build and manage a team of data scientists, and computational biologists to test AI-driven imaging models and will facilitate scientific collaborations with local, domestic, and international researchers. This position will take on a growing role and contribute to a groundbreaking initiative in biological imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
*Conduct and design independent research and lead a team of data scientists and software engineers to enable the development of state-of-the-art AI models for light sheet microscopy data.
*Collaborate with experts in optical physics, engineering, and computational imaging to support a foundational AI model for high-resolution developmental biology data.
*Conduct and lead experimental design, data acquisition, and data analysis pipelines to ensure optimal data quality.

This role will provide independent, third-party safety oversight focused on post-erection scaffold assessments and recurring monthly compliance evaluations. The consultant will work closely with project leadership, trade partners, and scaffold contractors to verify structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and safe use throughout the scaffold lifecycle.
This is a project-based consulting opportunity ideal for safety professionals with strong scaffold competency and commercial construction experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial post-erection scaffold assessments following contractor certification.
- Conduct recurring monthly scaffold compliance inspections.
- Verify scaffold erection under competent person supervision.
- Inspect structural components, decking, bracing, and foundations.
- Evaluate guardrail systems and fall protection integration.
- Review access/egress systems including ladders and stair towers.
- Confirm tie-ins, stabilization, and load rating postings.

Berkeley Summer Sessions & Study Abroad is a part of the division under the leadership of the Dean of Extended Education that also includes University Extension and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Summer Sessions, in partnership with UC Berkeley's Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department (EECS), invites applications for a pool of qualified, dynamic instructors with a commitment to Pre-College education in Computer Science, Programming, and Data Science to teach high school students (grades 10-12) in our Berkeley Summer Computer Science Academy. This intensive, non-credit program is offered in-person over 2 weeks during weekdays (June 22, 2026 - July 3, 2026) on the UC Berkeley campus with some online instructional components, such as an Instructor Orientation and a student pre-arrival Welcome Webinar.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Course Subjects
We are seeking qualified applicants who possess current subject matter expertise and teaching proficiency in the SNAP! programming language/coding software and in other introductory coding, computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence concepts.
General Duties
The department seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy. Specific duties and expectations will vary depending on the method of instruction including: Classroom (In-Person).
- For synchronous instruction (classroom), duties include but are not limited to: syllabus development; assignment development; lesson planning for class meetings; preparing and submitting required texts and course materials; reviewing and updating Canvas course site; and delivering lectures, presentations, and learning activities for all required hours of instruction.
- For all instruction (regardless of course format) duties include but are not limited to: completing required trainings as mandated by the UC Presidential policies; responding to student questions and learning needs in a timely manner; reviewing and providing feedback on student work; utilizing University-approved course support platforms including the Canvas Learning Management System, Zoom, Google Workspace, etc.; reviewing and following University and departmental policies, logistics, and other guidelines; and responding to other requests from the Program Director or Department Director in a timely manner.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree (or enrollment in a bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree program) required.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

- Minimum of one year of experience in related content area.
- Availability to teach in-person on the UC Berkeley campus weekdays between June 22, 2026 and July 3, 2026.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced degree (or enrollment in an advanced degree) in course subjects.
- Subject matter expertise in SNAP! programming language/coding software and in other introductory coding, computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence concepts.
- 1 or more years of teaching experience in the course subject at a United States K-12, college, or university institution.
- Experience in creating syllabi, learning objectives, lectures/presentations, learning activities, assignments, assessments, exams, and quizzes.
- Ability to convey conceptual and complex ideas and information.
- Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills (English).
- Effective organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and work within a team environment.
- Ability to support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy.
- Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) instructional and other technology, such as: Learning Management Systems (Canvas); lecture/presentation capture applications (Camtasia/Panopto); Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint); file sharing (Google drive or Dropbox); and Google Workspace tools (email, calendar, docs, sheets, slides, etc).
- Familiarity with Title IX, CANRA, CLERY, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and related federal and state laws, health & safety regulations, policies and procedures, and risk management guidelines and best practices related to working with minors or demonstrated ability to learn such laws.

Salary range:
The UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. See the following table for the current salary scale for this position: . The current full-time salary range for this position is $75,301 - $199,722. TSP hourly rate: $150-$375. Starting salary will be commensurate with highest degree, past college-level teaching experience, relevant industry experience and equity within the department.
Percent time:
Lecturer positions may range from 17% to 100% time in a given fall or spring semester. Instructors teaching one course with three hours of lecture per week during the fall or spring semester will normally be appointed at 33% time; exact percentages depend on contact hours and other assigned duties. Lecturer positions may range from 4% to 22% in the summer.
TSP assignments are hourly based on contact hours and other assigned duties.

Position description
The Pantas and Ting Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach experiential-based courses in SCET, housed within the College of Engineering, should an opening arise. The number of positions varies from semester to semester (Spring, Summer and Fall) depending on the needs of the department.

SCET's mission is to empower innovators to positively change the world and believe mindsets and behaviors matter, diversity adds value, and innovators should be responsible for what they create. Since 2005, SCET has created the foundation of Berkeley's entrepreneurship ecosystem and is known for developing the Berkeley Method, an internationally recognized approach to teaching technology entrepreneurship to undergraduate students, innovation to graduate students, and technology firm leadership to executives and professionals. SCET is where aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators take a deep dive into the world of entrepreneurship and technology innovation. SCET courses offer students the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields, as well as their classmates, and address real-world problems through hands-on group projects. Students have the chance to build networks, learn how to start and grow their own start up, and strengthen transferrable skills in areas such as leadership, teamwork, and communication. The mindsets and skills introduced in SCET classes prepare students to become innovative leaders in their industry, jobs or ventures regardless of the field.
SCET hires a number of qualified professionals and academics to hold temporary lecturer appointments to lend variety and subject matter expertise to our core topics. The topics in our Fall, Spring and Summer curriculum may include but are not limited to: Technology Entrepreneurship, the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Product Management, and other advanced topics and challenge labs in entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology including, but not limited to environmental sustainability, plant based foods, smart cities, future of work, health technology, sports technology, and other emerging technologies and industries.
SCET hires for both lecturer and Teacher Special Program (TSP) positions. TSPs teach short courses on one or more of the topic areas listed. Most TSP courses are taught in a 'bootcamp' format in August and January. Lecturers and TSPs are responsible for the course syllabus, curriculum development and delivery, holding office hours, student assessment through relevant projects, presentations, problem sets, exams, and/or class attendance and participation, and assigning grades.
