Join our Internal Constrcution Crew (ICC) in Delavan, WI!

The Fiber Construction Technician performs the general labor associated with outside plant construction for PON/fiber optic networks. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with the installation of communications facilities (both buried and aerial). Work is performed in accordance with state and local regulations in a safe manner.

This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus! (Payout terms apply)

Training:

As a Fiber Construction Technician, you will have the opportunity to obtain a Class A CDL through our in-house training program. You will attend safety training at one of our new facilities where you will also be trained on Pole Climbing and Bucket Trucks. On-the-job training includes exposure to various construction equipment including Directional Drill Rigs, Mini Excavators, Trenchers, and Locators. Fiber optic training includes Fusion Splicing, Fault Detection, and exposure to OTDRs and other advanced testing equipment.

The duration of training varies based on the team assignment. Training for underground teams is 3 weeks, with an additional 1 week required for aerial training. Depending on factors such as market needs, prior skills, and team size, some individuals may only complete underground training, while others may undergo the full 4-week program, including aerial training.

• Performs general construction labor in various weather conditions while utilizing safety fundamentals.
  • Assists with and performs the transportation of required construction equipment to and from the worksite.
  • Assists with and performs the placement of new aerial and buried fiber according to maps, staking sheets, and locate markings.
  • Uses hand tools, cable locators, and test equipment.
  • Installs and/or sets enclosures (buried and aerial) vaults, pedestals, and handholes.
  • Climbs poles, ladders, towers, and other structures as needed; uses bucket truck when required.
  • Marks/labels fiber optic and/or copper facilities.
  • Uses dispatching application and associated tools.
  • Assists with fiber splicing and repairs.
  • Assists with outside plant preventative maintenance.
• Services, cleans, maintains, and repairs equipment.
• Completes all related paperwork in a timely manner.
• Provides assistance to field services technicians, as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ months experience in any combination of the following areas: customer service, electrical or utility construction, -OR-technical certification (or higher) -OR- current military service, or prior military service with honorable discharge.
• Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines in order to meet TDS’s business needs including but not limited to our obligations to our customers and to our customers’ needs.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and remain eligible for DOT requirements.

Other Qualifications

• Must have the ability to obtain a Class A CDL. A current CDL is preferred at hire, but TDS will train and certify eligible associates through its in-house CDL certification program after hire.
• Physical requirements may vary based on company needs: Ability to climb poles, ladders, towers, and other structures as needed. Ability to kneel, dig, lift, and pull.
• Upon hire, must successfully pass all components of the Safety Training course curriculum.
• Upon hire, must successfully complete customer-specific requirements, which may include a background check administered by the customer.

Job Title : Nuclear Engineer (Naval Reactors Engineer) Category / Component : Officer • Active Overview Design, regulate, and oversee the Navy's nuclear propulsion program, including reactor design, fleet operations, and eventual defueling and decommissioning of nuclear powered ships and submarines from Naval Reactors Headquarters and associated Department of Energy laboratories and shipyards.

Title: Industrial Engineer

The Industrial Engineer II studies, plans, and coordinates manufacturing operations to improve productivity, efficiency, material flow, and facility utilization. This role applies generally accepted Industrial Engineering and financial practices to drive Lean initiatives, cost-justified improvements, and operational excellence.

Job Duties:

• Establish and continually improve Lean operational methods and work standards; analyze existing operations and implement cost-justified improvements using the sufficiency plan process.
• Maintain templates and process documentation and ensure effective utilization of Epicor.
• Participate in 5S initiatives, Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, and Kanban system analysis and implementation.
• Optimize floorspace, material flow, manpower utilization, workstation design, and equipment using Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing methods.
• Apply standardized work, line balancing, time studies, labor routing, theory of constraints, ergonomic assessment, visual management, Andon, and mixed-model sequencing and scheduling.
• Create templates, reports, and methods supporting management reporting systems including end-of-shift reports, KPI reporting, unit cost reports, productivity and efficiency analysis, budget analysis, cost reduction analysis, CapEx justifications, and make vs. buy analysis.
• Analyze and document current-state material flow strategies and develop a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) system to support warehousing, kitting, sub-assembly, and line-side delivery.
• Assist, mentor, and train Industrial and Manufacturing Engineers on standard tools, systems, and methods; lead small projects as needed.
• Provide technical support to operations and serve as a liaison between product engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and customer service.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and plant safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer.
• Demonstrated success implementing Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing methods in an ISO environment.
• ERP system knowledge (Epicor, JD Edwards, SAP, or Oracle), including effective communication of process changes and system constraints.
• Familiarity with CAD software, ideally SolidWorks.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing assembly, preferably automotive with IATF 16949 exposure.
• APICS CPIM certification.
• Experience with Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban initiatives.
• Basic understanding of GAAP, particularly labor reporting and inventory accounting for KPI development.

Job Title : Aviation Electronics, Electrical & Computer Systems Technician (AE/AT) Category / Component : Enlisted • Active Overview Aviation Electronics, Electrical and Computer Systems Technicians keep Navy aircraft mission ready by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the electrical power, avionics, and computer based systems that enable radar, communications, navigation, flight controls, and weapons at sea and ashore.

Qualified Sailors may also volunteer as Naval Aircrewmen and perform in flight systems operations and mission support.

Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft systems including digital computers, fiber optics, radar, laser electronics, infrared detection, and communications and navigation suites; maintain aircraft electrical power generation and distribution systems; test and calibrate aircraft instruments and automatic flight controls; perform micro miniature circuit card repair for qualified technicians; install modifications and upgrades to aircraft avionics and electrical systems; use diagnostic equipment and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams to restore systems to full mission capability.
