About KCIKinney Contractors is one of the fastest-growing heavy civil contractors in Illinois. We self-perform concrete paving, earthwork, utilities, and structures on IDOT and municipal projects — the kind of infrastructure work you're studying in school. We're owner-operated, which means decisions are fast, politics are minimal, and interns don't get lost in the machine. You'll work alongside project managers, superintendents, and estimators who know your name.
What You'll Actually DoYou'll embed with our project management and field teams on active construction projects. The goal is simple: teach you how projects really work, from bid day to final closeout. Here's what that looks like day-to-day:
▸ Assist project managers with budgeting, scheduling, and production tracking
▸ Track and log change orders — learn how scope changes move through a project
▸ Verify field quantities for billing and help prepare pay applications
▸ Coordinate with subcontractors on scheduling and deliverables
▸ Perform plan takeoffs and attend pre-bid meetings with estimators
▸ Support project closeout activities — punch lists, final documentation, as-builts
▸ Spend time on job sites understanding how plans translate to dirt, concrete, and pipe
▸ Learn how to set up GPS / stringless equipment
Required:
▸ Currently pursuing a BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
▸ Ability to read construction plans and specifications
▸ Strong math and analytical skills
▸ Clear written and verbal communication
▸ Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
▸ Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Preferred (not required):
▸ 1+ year of construction experience (field, office, college, or family business - it all counts)

About KCI
Kinney Contractors is one of the fastest-growing heavy civil contractors in Illinois. We self-perform
concrete paving, earthwork, utilities, and structures on IDOT and municipal projects across central and

We invest in equipment, technology, and people. You'll work with late-model iron, GPS machine control,
a field tech stack that actually works, and an office that handles the paperwork so you can focus on

The Role
You'll own a project from mobilization through final punch list. That means you're the one making the
calls on crew deployment, schedule sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and daily production
targets. You report to the Project Manager, but the field is yours.
Day-to-day, you'll
▸ Plan and manage daily field operations across concrete paving, earthwork, grading, and/or utility
installation
▸ Coordinate crews, subcontractors, material deliveries, and inspectors to keep the schedule moving
▸ Read and interpret plans, specs, and IDOT standards — and catch problems before they become
change orders
▸ Enforce quality control, safety compliance, and environmental requirements on-site
▸ Maintain accurate daily reports, quantities, and as-built documentation
▸ Manage project budgets at the field level — labor, equipment hours, material usage
▸ Communicate with owners, engineers, and IDOT resident engineers professionally and proactively
▸ Mentor and develop foremen and crew leads
What We're Looking For
Required:
▸ 5+ years of experience supervising heavy civil construction (highway, DOT, or municipal
infrastructure)
▸ Proven ability to independently manage a project site — schedule, budget, crews, and subs
▸ Strong working knowledge of IDOT specifications, prevailing wage requirements, and public sector
project controls
▸ Ability to read and interpret civil plans, profiles, cross-sections, and grading plans
▸ OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
▸ Valid driver's license with clean record, CDL preferred.
Preferred:
▸ Experience with concrete paving (slip-form or fixed-form) on IDOT projects
▸ Familiarity with HCSS HeavyJob, GPS machine control, and/or Trimble systems
▸ Experience managing $5M+ projects as lead superintendent
▸ CPR/First Aid certification

Job Title : Nuclear Engineer (Naval Reactors Engineer) Category / Component : Officer • Active Overview Design, regulate, and oversee the Navy's nuclear propulsion program, including reactor design, fleet operations, and eventual defueling and decommissioning of nuclear powered ships and submarines from Naval Reactors Headquarters and associated Department of Energy laboratories and shipyards.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical direction in areas such as reactor and fluid systems design, reactor physics, materials development, component design for steam generators, pumps, and valves, instrumentation and control for reactor and propulsion plants, testing and quality control, radiation shielding, and chemistry and radiological controls; review designs and analyses from laboratories, shipyards, and industry partners; coordinate with fleet units to ensure safe and reliable nuclear plant operation.

Upon hire, Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. On weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Flex Houseparents eventually transition into a Placed Houseparent role, where they live and work with the same group of students in their own student home.

Qualifications include:

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Job Title : Aviation Electronics, Electrical & Computer Systems Technician (AE/AT) Category / Component : Enlisted • Active Overview Aviation Electronics, Electrical and Computer Systems Technicians keep Navy aircraft mission ready by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the electrical power, avionics, and computer based systems that enable radar, communications, navigation, flight controls, and weapons at sea and ashore.
Qualified Sailors may also volunteer as Naval Aircrewmen and perform in flight systems operations and mission support.
Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft systems including digital computers, fiber optics, radar, laser electronics, infrared detection, and communications and navigation suites; maintain aircraft electrical power generation and distribution systems; test and calibrate aircraft instruments and automatic flight controls; perform micro miniature circuit card repair for qualified technicians; install modifications and upgrades to aircraft avionics and electrical systems; use diagnostic equipment and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams to restore systems to full mission capability.
