A well-established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Plant Manager to lead operations at a key production facility. This confidential search is focused on a proven manufacturing leader with deep experience in CNC machining environments who can drive operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement.

Position Overview

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the facility. This role will oversee production, quality, maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives, with particular focus on optimizing CNC machining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full-site leadership for safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
• Drive operational excellence within a CNC machining environment (mills, lathes, multi-axis equipment)
• Optimize production flow, machine utilization, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
• Lead and develop production, engineering, maintenance, and support teams
• Champion Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Establish and monitor KPIs; implement corrective actions to meet plant goals
• Partner with engineering on process improvements, tooling strategies, and cycle time reductions
• Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs support high machine uptime
• Manage labor planning, staffing, and capacity to meet customer demand
• Support capital equipment planning and justification for CNC investments
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational discipline

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field preferred
• 8+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
• Strong hands-on experience in CNC machining operations
• Demonstrated success leading multi-shift manufacturing teams
• Deep understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and cycle time optimization
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar preferred)
• Proven track record driving Lean/CI initiatives and measurable performance gains
• Strong financial and operational acumen

An Electrical Assembly Lead is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. They work with various types of wiring, cables, and connectors to ensure proper functioning of electrical equipment and systems. An Electrical Assembly Lead may read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, and they often work closely with electricians and other technicians to complete projects. They must adhere to safety regulations and follow industry standards to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred.
• 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of system software (i.e. Oracle, MES, True View) to look up parts and drawings.
• Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.

This position is at our Seco Machine location where we are a leading manufacturer of components for the railroad industry. This role is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications and production standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience reading blueprints, and a commitment to safety and precision.

Responsibilities / Job Duties:

• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC mills and lathes, as well as conventional and specialty machine tools.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and scales to perform setups and verify part accuracy.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, manuals, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and setup requirements.
• Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machines and equipment as required.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, seeking guidance on complex setup or operational issues when needed; all work is subject to final inspection.
• Analyze production information, troubleshoot machining challenges, and implement effective solutions to maintain quality and efficiency.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• 2+ years of CNC lathe or mill experience is required.
• Experience with machine setups, tooling, and edits are preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills are necessary.

The Role We Want You For

The Field Administrative Assistant takes the lead in providing comprehensive support to Clayco Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Mission Control and Technical Services, as assigned. Prepare daily and monthly reports, checks outboxes and distributes mail. Assist Clayco in document management by entering and processing of subcontracts, purchase orders, letters of intent, change orders, safety audits, submittals, bid packages, entering punch-list items and updating the information thru the completion of the job and other paper work processing. Follow up with subcontractors and suppliers if executed documents are missing. Arrange meetings, travel, and ordering food if required, In addition; greet and direct visitors, workers, deliveries, and overall assistance to the entire project team and activities taking place on job site with whatever is needed to accomplish the company’s objectives. Acts on own initiative, with a minimal amount of supervision, and yet is a team player. This person is assigned to project teams and will need to be organized, focused and a quick learner.

The Specifics of the Role:

• Prepares correspondence (typing).
• Readily assists with whatever is needed to accomplish the company’s objectives. This includes typing, filing, copying, binding, scanning, and whatever else is necessary. This will also include document retrieval for auditing and litigation as needed.
• Retrieves, scans, transmits and electronically (or physically) distributes executed subcontracts, change orders and other documents associated with projects. This is an extremely important responsibility.
• May type contracts, change orders, letters of intent, meeting minutes, etc., and distribute as required. May also help obtain, assemble and assist with project closeout.
• May assist in entering punch list items and updating the information thru the completion of the job.
• Routinely will run reports and dunning letters on projects as required.
• Enter Daily Reports for Clayco and Subcontractors each day and follow up with Subcontractors on missing paperwork.
• Update rack drawing with the most current issues on a timely basis. This may be daily.
