Overview

Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Financial Operations serves as a strategic finance leader and trusted business partner responsible for driving financial performance, operational excellence, and data-informed decision-making across the organization. The Director provides leadership and oversight for strategic finance, revenue analysis, payer structures, and the development of best-in-class financial and analytic operations that support optimal financial effectiveness, service excellence, and high-quality patient care.

This role partners closely with clinical, operational, and departmental leaders to guide annual operating and capital budgeting, long-range financial planning, forecasting, and performance improvement initiatives. The Director ensures transparent communication of financial results, productivity, resource utilization, KPIs, and variance analyses while proactively identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to strengthen financial performance.

Essential Duties

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the Vice President & CFO in setting and executing the organization’s financial strategy, with accountability for operational financial performance
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling, including annual operating and capital budgets and performance improvement initiatives
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, standards and directives from regulatory agencies and third-party payors
  • Oversees preparation and submission of Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party cost reports
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and departmental leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights related to productivity, resource utilization, service line performance, and revenue optimization
  • Develop and oversee best-in-class financial analytics, benchmarking, and KPI dashboards to drive transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Analyze financial and operational trends, variances, and risks; proactively develop and implement corrective action plans to achieve financial and operational targets
  • Provide leadership over revenue analysis, payer structures, and labor productivity strategies to support margin improvement and sustainable growth
  • Ensure effective financial controls, policies, and procedures are maintained in accordance with regulatory, audit, and governance standards
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team; foster strong internal communication, engagement, and a culture of collaboration and accountability
  • Support organizational initiatives that enhance community relationships, physician alignment, and the organization’s overall reputation and mission


Responsibilities

Required Education:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required; CPA preferred

Required Experience/Skills

  • 7–10+ years of progressive healthcare finance experience, including leadership responsibility within a hospital, health system, or complex healthcare organization
  • Demonstrated expertise in hospital financial operations, including labor productivity, revenue cycle performance, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and operating and capital budgeting
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and financial modeling capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into executive-level insights
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with clinical leaders, physician groups, operational teams, and executive leadership
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging in high-level forums and addressing complex financial issues
  • Experience leading change, driving performance improvement, and developing high-performing teams
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and alignment with organizational values
  • Proficiency in ERP and financial systems, with strong data visualization and reporting capabilities

The Clinical Operations Manager, Imaging Services is responsible for the daily clinical and operational management of Riverside Medical Center’s imaging service lines, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered diagnostic care. This position oversees imaging clinical and non-clinical supervisors and clinical support staff, manages departmental operations, and drives excellence in performance, quality, and service delivery across all imaging modalities.

This leader will also provide technical or administrative support as needed—maintaining active engagement in imaging operations to ensure seamless workflow, adherence to regulatory standards, and excellence in patient care. The Clinical Operations Manager works collaboratively with radiologists, technologists, nurses, physicians, and administrative leaders to achieve departmental and organizational goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical & Patient Care Management

  • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate imaging care across all modalities (e.g., radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine).
  • Provide technical or administrative support as needed, such as assisting with patient coordination or patient or staff satisfaction follow up.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of imaging services through audit, observation, and review of documentation, ensuring adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those set forth by CMS, IDPH, DNV, ACR, and HIPAA.
  • Identify risks to patient safety, quality, or operational efficiency, and develop corrective or preventive action plans.
  • Oversee competency validation, training, and continuing education for technologists and support staff.
  • Collaborate with other clinical departments to support coordinated patient care and optimize scheduling and throughput.

Operational & Practice Management

  • Provide leadership and oversight of imaging operations, ensuring efficient workflows, appropriate staffing, and optimal patient experience.
  • Manage staffing models, scheduling, budgets, and productivity metrics to meet department and organizational objectives.
  • Oversee imaging equipment, ensuring maintenance, calibration, and regulatory compliance with safety standards.
  • Partner with biomedical engineering and facilities teams to coordinate equipment service and replacement planning.
  • Support front-end processes including patient scheduling, registration, and timely reporting and documentation to optimize patient flow and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive service line growth, technology advancement, and process improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor imaging and clinical support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

  • Partner with Human Resources on employee development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes as needed.

Required Experience

How will you make an impact?

We are seeking a highly skilled, technically proficient and detail-oriented Principal Mechanical Engineer with expertise in metal structures, frame design, pipes and fabrication to support the development of power and cooling infrastructure for data centers. This role is critical in designing robust mechanical systems that house and support electrical and thermal management equipment, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.

What will you do?

- Experience designing and integrating hydronic systems including pumps, piping networks, valves, and heat exchangers for data center cooling applications.

- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing for chilled water and glycol-based systems.

- Understanding of installation constraints, maintenance access, and serviceability in large-scale mechanical infrastructure.

- Design and develop mechanical frames, enclosures, and support structures for data center power and cooling products (UPS systems, battery racks, CRAC units, containment systems, LVS, MVS).

- Perform advanced structural analysis using FEA tools to validate mechanical integrity under static, dynamic, seismic, and thermal loads.

- Analyze load paths, stress concentrations, and fatigue life of structural components to ensure long-term reliability.

- Design metal enclosures with considerations for airflow, thermal containment, EMI shielding, and environmental protection.

- Evaluate and implement new materials, coatings, and fabrication technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.

- Participate in customer engagements and site visits to understand deployment constraints and gather feedback for design improvements.

- Create detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings, including weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts

- Select appropriate materials and fabrication methods to optimize cost, performance, and reliability

- Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and systems engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with functional components.

- Lead mechanical design reviews and contribute to cross-functional design validation efforts.

- Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).

- Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, and performance optimization.

- Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve fabrication issues and ensure quality standards are met.

- Support lifecycle management of mechanical components, including obsolescence planning and alternate sourcing.

- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures or field issues.

- Ensure mechanical designs support airflow management, thermal containment, and integration with cooling systems (in-row cooling, rear door heat exchangers).

- Collaborate with compliance and certification teams to ensure mechanical designs meet global regulatory requirements (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH)

- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

How will you get here?

Education:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.

Experience:

- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and fabrication, preferably in data center, industrial, or power systems environment.

- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor) and FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus).

- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes including welding, sheet metal forming, and machining is a must

- Experience with structural design for heavy equipment or large assemblies, and familiarity with thermal and airflow considerations in enclosure design is required

- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

- Experience designing mechanical systems for data centers, telecom, or industrial power/cooling products.

- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards applicable to data center infrastructure.

- Hands-on experience with prototype fabrication and testing; Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers a plus
