- Applies fundamental drafting principles and design concept understanding to support solutions to product/process issues as they occur real-time in the fabrication flow. Create drafted parts and product structures to support operational and quality concerns.

Position Responsibilities:
- Provides materials and process support to and systems design teams throughout the full life cycle of the airplane from design to production to fleet support. Activities include definition of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components used across products.
- Reviews electrical component materials and process specifications and other engineering documents used to control design, certify and produce systems hardware.
- Identifying impacts of non-conformances associated with electrical components and corrective/preventative actions for future avoidance.
- Conducts engineering lab / failure analysis to help determine cause and corrective action of failed electrical components
- Leads in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to future BCA products enabling a competitive advantage.
- Leads or collaborates with multiple engineering teams, Design, Stress, Quality, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to solve a variety of materials and process challenges throughout the full life cycle of the airplane.
- Produces requirements, specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used to enhance the full life cycle.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree and typical experience in drafting classification (or combination of education and experience), basic understanding and usage of computer aided design, basic understanding of design product structure (details, parts, assemblies, installations), understanding in machining of metallic parts.
- 9+ years of experience working with aerospace design, including experience working with detail and assembly parts

Position Overview:
This is a hands-on technical leadership and program management role responsible for delivering detailed thermal and airflow analyses across Boeing commercial and military derivative airplane programs. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of analysts and engineers to produce highquality, timely results that support design trade studies, certification, supplier engagement, and inservice troubleshooting.

Represent ECS in program reviews, supplier meetings, and customer discussions: prepare and present technical briefings, decision materials, and status updates to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Coordinate multidisciplinary execution: interface with systems, structures, interiors, electrical, and manufacturing teams to align analyses with program needs and certification requirements.
Advocate for safety and quality: identify and communicate risks, propose mitigation plans, and ensure outputs support certification and operational safety cases.
Resource, budget, and computing stewardship: lead staffing plans, forecast resourcing, and manage budget; coordinate with IT for HPC access, licenses, and data storage required to complete the SOW.

The Boeing Electromagnetic Effects (E3) Group seeks Electromagnetic Effects Design and Analysis Engineers at Associate (Level 2), Experienced (Level 3), and Expert (Level 4) levels. The successful candidate will be based in the Puget Sound region (Washington State) and support Boeing Defense, Space & Security commercial-derivative aircraft programs such as the U.S. E-7A and the KC-46A tanker, among others.
The engineer will develop and validate Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements and architectures to integrate complex components and subsystems into higher-level platforms. Responsibilities include defining and conducting tests to validate designs to requirements, and providing EMI/EMC expertise during design, modification, supplier engagement, and manufacturing activities.
E3 environments include: Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Lightning, High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), Precipitation Static (P-static), Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), and related environments.
Primary responsibilities:
- Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other analyses to predict component, interconnect, and system performance and to optimize designs for E3 performance.
- Work (with minimal direction at higher levels) to achieve electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring, and structure.
- Interface with manufacturing and suppliers on complex E3 design aspects to assure system-level compatibility; identify and report achievements and issues to program management and customers.

The Lead Software Certification Engineer will have a broad technical background and extensive experience in the software development life cycle. The position will require strong leadership, analytical skills, teamwork, and excellent communication skills. The lead role is responsible for identifying resource requirements and assigning responsibility for specific work, including deadlines and performance expectations to the team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our aircraft not only meet the regulatory standards set by the FAA but also embody the highest levels of safety and reliability.

Position Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on the certification of design, analysis, and testing of aircraft systems and components, with an unwavering commitment to safety.
Lead process improvement activities and work with leadership team to establish process improvement goals.
Leads development of program specific software certification requirements for flow down to suppliers.
Lead and monitor project progress and performance, ensuring that engineering solutions are delivered on time and meet all safety and certification milestones.
Partners with appropriate stakeholders to inform system definition and reviews translation of system-level requirements into software requirements and models that meet customer, operational and performance requirements and have clear traceability to design, code and test artifacts.
Develop and implement engineering strategies that emphasize safety and reliability, aligning with Boeing’s commitment to delivering the highest quality aircraft. Cultivate a safety-first mindset.
Serve as the primary liaison for FAA representatives, facilitating transparent communication and collaboration throughout the certification journey.
Collaborate closely with the FAA to navigate the complex certification process, ensuring that all aircraft designs comply with stringent regulatory requirements and safety standards.
Oversee the preparation and submission of comprehensive technical documentation required for FAA certification, ensuring that all materials reflect the highest standards of accuracy and thoroughness.
Mentor and develop engineering staff, instilling a deep understanding of safety protocols and certification processes to enhance their professional growth and technical expertise.
Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges with a focus on safety, leveraging data-driven decision-making and industry best practices.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
3+ years of experience in leading embedded software development, verification, or compliance finding activities.
3+ years of experience in RTCA DO-178(B/C) Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification.
5+ years of experience in working with software development life cycle process.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Level 3: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 4: 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist.
Experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and best agile software engineering practices.
Experience leading software development projects, including activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
Experience leading development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.
Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software.
Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety.

Summary pay range for Experienced Level (Level 3): $124,100 - $167,900
Summary pay range for Senior Level (Level 4): $151,300 - $204,700
