Unit Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the CVMC Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as part of our Critical Care Team is responsible for direct and indirect professional nursing care to patients including:
Provides direct care to assigned patients in conformance with hospital policies, professional standards, physician orders, and approved plan of care.
Responsible for indirect nursing functions and activities of assigned nursing personnel.
Serves as patient advocate.
Provides teaching, counseling and emotional comfort to patients and family members.
Functions within limits of Vermont Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and hospital and nursing department policies and procedures. Supports philosophy, objectives, and goals of nursing department. Nursing process will be utilized in the provision of patient care.
EXPERIENCE
One year of experience of ICU experience to be proficient in all phases of assigned duties.

Our Emergency Department is a 24-bed unit that provides care for an average of 80 patients per day. Our RNs actively participate in the treatment of patients of all ages and with any kind of medical or psychiatric diagnosis.
Our Emergency Room Nurses are trained in ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ESI, and AVADE. We highly encourage our staff to become certified in Emergency Nursing (CEN) and Pediatric Emergency Nursing (CPEN). Our nurses also have the opportunity to participate in our Shared Governance Councils and to advance their careers through our Clinical Advancement program. This shift is scheduled for 11am - 11pm.
On-call: Not required.

Unit Description: Central Vermont Medical Center is a community-based hospital in Berlin, VT. Our Medical/Surgical Unit at CVMC is comprised of two units: 2 South (42 beds) and 2 North (9 beds). We are a fast-paced work environment, encountering a diverse patient population with needs ranging from acute management of chronic disease/illness, to orthopedic surgery, to general surgery. Our community is who we care for. As a nurse on our floor, you'll be immersed in a unique culture and environment that fosters teamwork, growth, and excellence in patient care. You'll work alongside experienced nurses, new graduate nurses, licensed nursing assistants, physicians, and other healthcare professionals who are committed to maintaining a supportive and cohesive work environment. Unit Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the CVMC Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as part of our Critical Care Team is responsible for direct and indirect professional nursing care to patients including:
