Precision Custom Components (PCC) is seeking a talented Quality Inspector with Machining Background (2nd shift) to join our team. This is an on-site position reporting to our manufacturing facility in York, PA.

Whether you’re driving results in the office or making them happen on the shop floor, you’ll collaborate across departments to solve problems, support efficient operations, and help ensure every component is completed safely, accurately, and with precision.

Essential Duties of the Quality Inspector (with Machining Background):

• Perform dimensional inspections of components using conventional measuring equipment, machines, and indicators.
• Utilize advanced measurement technologies such as Laser Tracker, Faro Arm, and Photogrammetry systems to verify compliance with engineering requirements.
• Inspect components for compliance with engineering drawings and planning documents.
• Interpret engineering drawings and inspection plans to ensure accurate measurements and documentation.
• Identify and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles during inspection processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure components meet technical specifications and quality standards.

Education & Skills Requirements:

• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of industrial experience as a journeyman machinist or machine operator required.
• Minimum of three (3) additional years of industrial experience working as a Quality Control Inspector required.
• Ability to think and visualize in three dimensions.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and planning documents.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to identify common ASME Y14.5 GD&T symbols and terms including datums, basic dimensions, tolerance zones, MMC/LMC, and RFS.
• Ability to read feature control frames (FCFs) and understand datum reference structures (A|B|C).
• US Citizenship required at time of hire.

Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Manufactured components are used primarily in generators and Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines save lives, over 2,600 lives.

Collins York is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will operate CNC lathes , mills, grinders, and other specialized equipment to convert raw materials into precision semi-finished goods. You will also perform finish work and marking on piece parts at various stages of production. All work is done in a clean, climate controlled facility where we put safety and quality first in everything we do.

What You Will Do:

• You will operate CNC lathes , mills, grinders and other specialized CNC and manual equipment and/or perform finish work and marking of piece parts in various stages of production.

• You will be expected to set-up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision semi-finished goods within print tolerance specification.

• You will be required to obtain inspection certification through on-the-job training & testing.

3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 pm – 7:00 AM

Training Schedule : Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm for ~90 days.

What You Will Learn:

• Gained experience with CNC machines.

• Cross-functional collaboration through various types of manufacturing and processes.

• Gain experience with inspection equipment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with measurement equipment, i.e. gauges, calipers, etc.

• Experience with basic hand tools.

• Experience with the computer and multiple computer applications (including email, internet, and other job-specific applications).

• Experience with math skills, including adding and subtracting decimals

• Experience reading, interpreting, and following blueprints.

Job Summary:

Direct production with respect to every aspect of scheduling, production and shipping.Assure a safe work environment while delivering a quality finished product to our customers on time.

Essential Job Functions:

• Monitor daily production and make required changes to our schedule to support shipping pull system for on time delivery.
• Ensure our employees are provided a safe work environment and practice safe work behavior.
• Communicate with all three shifts daily to discuss any production, employee or quality concerns.
• Develop strategic plans for production to support company objectives.
• Identify and develop improvement plans for underperforming machines or employees.
• Daily meetings with engineering and maintenance to help facilitate predictive and preventive maintenance to reduce or eliminate unscheduled downtime.
• Provide support for sales and structure with design and implementation of new items.
• Perform all management and leadership responsibilities and functions including hiring, training, motivating, disciplining, addressing and resolving complaints, production planning, employee assessments, succession planning, and equipment assessments.

Requirements:

• Master's degree or higher in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
