Role Description
The Inside Sales Representative supports customers in the food, beverage, dairy, and pharmaceutical processing industries by providing product expertise, responsive support, and accurate order management. This role focuses on sanitary process components, hygienic equipment, CIP/COP solutions, fluid handling products, and related items used in regulated production environments. The Inside Sales Representative works closely with customers, vendors, outside sales, and operations to ensure customer satisfaction and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support & Technical Sales
- Serve as the primary internal contact for processors, OEMs, contractors, and integrators in the food & beverage industry.
- Understand customer applications such as fluid transfer, mixing, CIP/COP processing, ingredient handling, and production line workflows.
- Recommend appropriate sanitary products including:
- Pumps, valves, and flow components
- Sanitary fittings, tubing, and piping (3‑A, BPE, FDA‑compliant)
- Hoses, gaskets, clamps, and seals
- Filters, strainers, and instrumentation
- Provide technical product information, pricing, lead times, and availability.
- Generate revenue through inbound orders and proactive outbound follow‑up.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities based on customer applications and compliance requirements.
- Prepare accurate quotes and proposals for both standard items and engineered solutions.
- Track open quotes, follow up regularly, and support outside sales initiatives.
- Enter, manage, and track customer orders in the ERP system with high accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams on shipping, special handling, inventory levels, and delivery schedules.
- Troubleshoot order discrepancies, backorders, returns, and quality concerns related to sanitary processing standards.
- Work with procurement and vendors to confirm pricing, lead times, and product specifications.
- Maintain working knowledge of sanitary processing standards including:
- 3‑A Sanitary Standards
- FDA, USDA, and FSMA requirements
- Material compatibility and hygienic design principles
- Support customers by identifying compliant solutions for high‑purity or hygienic applications.
- Participate in vendor training to stay updated on new sanitary technologies and product offerings.
- Maintain accurate CRM notes, customer profiles, and activity logs.
- Support outside sales in project tracking, quoting, and sourcing specialized sanitary components.
- Assist with inventory review, cycle counts, and forecasting needs based on customer demand.
Required
- 1–3 years of inside sales or customer service experience in distribution, industrial supply, sanitary processing, or related fields.

Plastic Manufacturing Support: Evaluate status of tools in injection molding and plastic extrusion, design and evaluate plastic components using SolidWorks, act as point of technical contact to plastics, mold making and extension suppliers.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
- 2+ years supporting production equipment and processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on wrench-turner: experience rebuilding gearboxes, aligned conveyors, and programmed basic PLC logic. Looking for a mix of hands on and theoretical experience.
- Mastery of structured problem-solving (5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto, FMEA).
- Fluent in SolidWorks for fixture design and layout; ERP/MES experience (Nav or SAP, Plex, Epicor, etc.).

· Work individually and in small teams to fit up sheet metal parts to assemblies using dedicated fixtures, scribe, and grind to fit.
· Use resistance spot welder to pre-assemble parts prior to applying braze for oven brazing.
· Use hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, metal forming dies, pliers, tin snips, and various grinders, to bring parts to customer specifications. Use calibrated tools and measuring devices to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
· Complete required paperwork and checklists.
· Perform work with a high degree of responsibility with an emphasis on safety and quality.
Qualifications & Experience:
· Ability to work in teams of two or three to accomplish manufacturing goals.

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience with any combination of the following:
- Experience with proactive and reactive component obsolescence management methodologies.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and presentation skills to adequately discuss system impact of component obsolescence issues.
- Experience with project management working with schedules, costs, and integration of stakeholder needs throughout the obsolescence process.
- Financial and Contract Management experience with proposals, BOE, EVMs, SOWs, CLINs and CDRLs.
- Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. This is a Program direct-support position and requires a technical understanding of piece part electronic components and their assembly level applications. This candidate will transition into a key leadership position in the supporting program Obsolescence Integrated Product Team and will drive issue resolution for situations involving obsolescence.
The selected candidate will perform and/or assist in the performance of Parts Engineering, Components Engineering or Applications Engineering tasks supporting programs in the Proposal, System Design Description, Low Rate Initial Production, Production and Support phases. Position will require day to day interface with Designers, Contracts, Estimating, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other disciplines.
This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do:
- Understand and/or generate a program statement of work (SOW) and other defined customer component application requirements.
- Develop and/or sustain a proactive Obsolescence Management process to deliver cost saving obsolescence mitigation strategies and solutions.
- Drive resolution through support or execution of lifetime buys, selections of alternate parts, redesign efforts or other mitigation strategies and will facilitate and support contract negotiations, basis of estimates, and supplier statements of work for proposal efforts.
- Interact with Program and customer leadership on a regular basis to communicate status of mitigation strategies.
- Conduct trade study analysis help identify cost effective obsolescence driven cut in points for proposed unit redesigns.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience with any combination of the following:
- Experience with proactive and reactive component obsolescence management methodologies.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and presentation skills to adequately discuss system impact of component obsolescence issues.
- Experience with project management working with schedules, costs, and integration of stakeholder needs throughout the obsolescence process.
- Financial and Contract Management experience with proposals, BOE, EVMs, SOWs, CLINs and CDRLs.
- Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs.
- Risk and Opportunity business case analysis experience supporting sustainment vs redesign cut in decisions.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related science or engineering discipline
- Ability to navigate multiple complex processes and tools.
- Understanding of the application of technical theories and concepts as they apply to electronic components and the parts management field.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hierarchy definition.
- Knowledge of component failure modes by commodity
- Knowledge of Component MIL drawings, standards, test specifications, and associated QPLs and QMLs
- Knowledge of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in military, and aerospace flight applications
- Knowledge of analog design and analysis, general knowledge of digital circuitry and interfaces
- Excellent communication skills to interface with other Integrated Product Team members, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Operations, and Supplier Engineering.
- Capable of supporting regular customer interactions including but not limited to leadership engagements, responding to proposal requests and contract negotiations.
- Outstanding organizational, presentation and technical skills.
- Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize responsibilities.
- Willingness to support occasional travel.
