Senior Field Superintendent Role
The Senior Field Superintendent will directly supervise and coordinate construction activities of the datacenters that are being constructed and report directly to Applied Digital’s Campus Project Director. The Superintendent will play a critical role in ensuring the project's success by monitoring and facilitating collaboration among Applied Digital, contractors, subcontractors, 3rd party vendors/contractors, and regulatory bodies. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and project management acumen.
Projects include but are not limited to:
- Development of ground-up data center buildings
- Redevelopment or upgrade of existing properties to state-of-the-art data centers
- Expansion of data centers and critical infrastructure within existing facilities or on existing property
- Large customer fit-outs and retrofits to accommodate customers occupancy and deployment needs
Duties:
Scope Specific

- Duties as outline below would apply with an emphasis on the specific scope
EH&S Job Site Specific (Primary and Supporting Role):
- Collaborate with APLD on site EH&S to establish and sustain site health, safety, and security controls in accordance with corporate objectives
Procurement (Primary Responsibility):
- Ensure the GC is properly managing site logistics for APLD owner furnished equipment. Know and understand the full OFCI process and what gear is coming and when.
- Work with Project Manager to receive approved submittal for all owner-furnished equipment. Ensure that the general contractor has a process for managing OFCI documentation and is receiving the appropriate documents.
- Inspect and check-in all Applied Digital-furnished equipment and materials that arrive to the jobsite
Construction Management, Administration & Management (Primary Responsibility):
- Be on site on behalf of APLD Monday – Friday 7A – 5P, exact times and days may fluctuate, to monitor construction activities. Weekday evenings and weekends may be needed pending project schedule. Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies.
- Make APLD aware of neighbor or other local jurisdiction complaints or issues.
- Participate in GC-led weekly meetings which may include, but is not limited to: OAC, subcontractor coordination, pull planning, design, BIM/VDC meetings, RFI/Submittal, etc.
- Provide onsite technical Construction SME support, ROJ dates, visual inspection and/or observation for construction quality control of OFCI and CFCI equipment and Supply chain management
- Management of team members, key stakeholders, neighboring properties, contractors, utility providers and inspection agencies
- Address any disputes or conflicts that may arise during the project, working collaboratively with all parties to find mutually acceptable solutions. Escalating to Project Manager team when appropriate.
- Know and understand key schedule milestones.
- Actively track contractor activities in alignment with schedule. Will be responsible for communicating schedule impacts, delays, and issues.
- Prepare succinct and clear reports on project progress on a monthly/weekly basis or as needed including plan, actual, variance, risk, and mitigation measures.
Quality Control(Primary Responsibility):
- Manage onsite job photography.
- Take time to understand the GC’s Quality Control plan. Work with the Project Manger to ensure the plan adheres to APLD provided specifications.
- Manage the on-site QA/QC inspection process to drive closure of punch-list items and an expeditious turnover to Operations.
- Develop/monitor quality program metrics to evaluate the project’s performance. Analyze metrics to understand the root cause of any problematic trends and then work with the applicable parties to correct those items.
- Ensure contractors are adhering to site cleanliness plans and following industry best practices for Data Center construction i.e. – (no dust producing activities in critical spaces, etc)
- Review/Management of owner provided specialty testing and inspections contractors
Site Security (Primary Responsibility):
- Ensure the GC manages the site to the agreed upon site specific security plan.
Billing and Invoice Processing & Change Management (Primary Responsibility):
- Assist in pay monitoring and control to ensure that the project remains within budgetary constraints. Review with the Applied Digital Project Manager change orders and pay applications from the contractor and vendors.
Commissioning & Training (Supporting Role):
- Assist as required with Engineering team and CxA for startup and Commissioning.
Closeout & Turn-over (Primary Responsibility):
- Coordinate with Project Manager and APLD Engineering/Turn over team to collect and review of Turnover Package for completeness and accuracy to support transition of completed projects to Operations.
Other

Sr Project Manager in Construction Role:
As a member of the company’s Design & Construction team, the Senior Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage every aspect of assigned capital construction projects including permitting, coordination with procurement of vendor products and services, contracting, construction management and administration, document control, invoice processing & change management, coordination with commissioning, documentation closeout and turn-over. Additionally, this role will assist or lead process improvement efforts and interdepartmental coordination.

Entitlements & Property Development (Primary or Supporting Role):
- Assist Real Estate Acquisitions, or other APLD stakeholder responsible for managing the site development process with site exploration and diligence as required by AHJ processes, and in order to assist the Design Manager and Design Team with information crucial to informing the design
Preconstruction/Predevelopment (Primary and Supporting Role):
- Assist Design Manager, Campus Project Director, and other project stakeholders in the development of the master project development budget.
- Assist Design Manager, Campus Project Director, and other project stakeholders in the development of the master project development schedule.
- Assist Design Manager, Campus Project Director, Procurement and other project stakeholders in the development and issuance of Requests for Proposals for the General Contractor services required on the project.
- Assist in the leveling of project proposal and associated summaries.
- Assist in, and provide consideration for, the selection of the General Contractor on the project.
- Manage the development of the master construction project budget, incorporating needed revisions and updates at milestones determined by the Campus Project Director and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure the GC is utilizing the APLD project criteria for project budget and bidding breakouts.
- Manage integration of General Contractor’s preconstruction effort. Assist to align design efforts with construction budget expectations and critical path construction schedule.
- Proactively consult with and assist the General Contractor in vendor and subcontractor partnerships to evaluate lead times of CFCI (important to get in schedule documents) and staff/labor availability in preparation for bidding
Procurement & Contracting (Primary Responsibility):
- Work with Design team and Procurement team to review RFP’s for contractors, vendors, and equipment, clearly defining scope, breakout of pricing, requested alternates, and other pertinent information needed to properly evaluate a proposal before contracting
- Provide ROJ dates for each group of equipment
- Provide information on how equipment is desired to be grouped in shipping. Provide recommendation for off-site storage as-needed.
- Enter requisition into Netsuite on areas of responsibility (GC, 3rd party, etc)
- Work with Procurement and Legal to understand contract and exhibits for contractors and related vendors.
- Finalize project scope, schedule and budget and coordinate with Finance for cash management
- Receive approved submittal for all owner-furnished equipment. Ensure that the general contractor has a process for managing OFCI documentation and is receiving the appropriate documents.
Construction Management, Administration & Document Control (Primary Responsibility):
- Manage all aspects of the project to ensure that set expectations regarding scope, schedule, budget, safety and quality are attained
- Produce weekly – project reporting that summarizes project risks, schedule milestones and variances, analyzes budget status, etc.
- Lead project kick-off meetings and vendor coordination meetings as needed. Connect general contractor(s) to any Applied Digital-furnished vendors.
- Lead all Data Center Readiness internal meetings and manage to Data Center readiness. Accountable for Applied Digital internal workgroups to achieve necessary completion dates that align with project schedule.
- Ensure that all vendor partners are following contract terms and conditions
- Monitor the RFI process and mitigate scope creep, schedule impacts, and changes
- Monitor BIM Coordination process and mitigate scope creep, schedule impacts, and changes
- Track the delivery, inspection and installation of all Owner Furnished Equipment
- Facilitate coordination between designers, installing contractors, Owner Furnished Equipment vendors and Owner Furnished Services vendors
- Ensure adherence to project Quality requirements by management of GC’s efforts and supporting project team members
- Review and validate project safety plans and measures
- Review and validate site logistics plans. Ensure alignment with operations, site master planning, and Applied Digital goals.
Billing and Invoice Processing & Change Management (Primary Responsibility):
- Ensure timely submission of vendor invoices to Accounts Payable
- Review and approve invoices in a timely manner to ensure that payment terms can be met
- Work to ensure that invoices are compliant with AP requirements and that the appropriate level of detail is provided
- Ensure accuracy of invoices prior to approval for payment
- Work with Finance as needed to report any potential deviations from the cash flow plan.
- Review all change order requests and ensure compliance with contract requirements. Ensure current invoices exclude change orders that are not fully approved or formally processed.
- Provide clear direction to all vendors related to change requests
- Vet all requests for additional scope that originate from other APLD stakeholders
- Review and respond to third party audit feedback on general contractor pay applications. Audit shall be performed quarterly and may require the general contractor to submit corrections.
Closeout & Turn-over (Primary Responsibility):
- Facilitate the collection, audit, and delivery of As-built Documents, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Warranties, and other closeout documents to Data Center Operations team from the General Contractor. Save for record in Construction folders.
- Facilitate the transfer of keys, spare parts and extra materials and ensure they are documented, verified, and transmitted to the Operations teamFacilitate early project on-boarding and integration strategy with Operations team.
- Ensure vendors submit final invoices in a timely manner to facilitate total project financial closeout and final cost reconciliation
- Work with Accounting and Procurement to close contracts, PO’s, and requisitions and close all accounting codes
- Conduct a final Data Center Readiness meeting with all key internal stakeholders to ensure that the facility can be operated and support customers
- Review systems training needs with APLD Operations and ensure that training requirements have been purchased and scheduled appropriately

Are you an experienced Power Distribution Designer or Make-Ready Designer looking to support meaningful utility engineering projects? Join a team that values accuracy, collaboration, and long-term professional growth.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking skilled Make-Ready Designers (primary focus) and Power Distribution Designers to support engineering programs for major electric and telecom utilities. Ideal candidates bring demonstrated experience in overhead utility pole design, NESC application, clearance assessment, pole loading analysis, and construction package development. Useful design platforms include DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or client-specific drafting systems.
In this role, you will review field/walkout data, evaluate existing attachment conditions, model pole loading, determine make-ready requirements, and prepare accurate construction-ready deliverables. Applicants without utility pole design or distribution engineering experience will not be considered.
Note: This position is remote, but new hires must attend a 2-week paid, in-person orientation at our Perrysburg, OH headquarters.

The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Data Center Infrastructure) is a technical leader responsible for the architecture, integration, and validation of advanced mechanical systems supporting hyperscale data center environments. This role requires deep expertise in liquid cooling technologies (single-phase and two-phase), hydronic system design, structural integration, and manufacturable rack-level infrastructure solutions.
This role is responsible for defining system performance requirements, developing technical specifications, selection and integration of critical components, and leading mechanical design from concept through production release. Responsibilities include wetted material selection, thermal and structural analysis, fastening strategies, component layout, and design for manufacturability. Partners cross-functionally to deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-effective Data Center Infrastructure solutions while advancing innovation in liquid cooling performance.
What will you do?
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and engineering of hyperscale Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) systems, including liquid-cooled rack assemblies, CDUs, manifolds, enclosures, structural frames, and associated hydronic piping systems.
- Serve as the technical authority for single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling architectures, including primary and secondary loop design, in-rack distribution, and system integration within hyperscale data center environments.
- Define and validate operational performance requirements for liquid-cooled infrastructure, including pressure ratings, hydrostatic limits, temperature ranges, flow rates and uniformity, thermal expansion, durability, and serviceability.
- Design, analyze, and validate machined components, welded fabrications, manifolds, and structural systems using advanced engineering principles, including stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), flow modeling, and structural load calculations to ensure mechanical integrity and code compliance.
- Lead wetted material selection and compatibility analysis for liquid cooling systems, including corrosion mitigation strategies, surface treatments, cleanliness standards, and long-term durability considerations.
- Develop and review CAD models and complete technical data packages using CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools; ensure design accuracy, manufacturability, and system-level integration.
- Author and approve technical specifications for piping systems, rack-level cooling infrastructure, and hydronic components, including installation guidelines, maintenance procedures, testing requirements, and compliance with applicable standards (ASME, ISO).
- Establish and oversee validation protocols including hydrostatic pressure testing, leak detection and mitigation, flow resistance analysis, and corrosion verification to ensure regulatory compliance and operational reliability.
- Evaluate customer design proposals and technical specifications to assess feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and risk; provide recommendations to optimize performance and total cost of ownership.
- Lead cross-functional design reviews with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure full system integration and compliance with product specifications and applicable plumbing and hydronic codes.
- Optimize rack manifold design and manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, surface finishing, connection interfaces, venting and draining strategies, and flow path optimization to enhance performance and manufacturability.
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing assembly methods and tooling in collaboration with production teams and equipment vendors to improve quality, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead root cause investigations for complex mechanical failures identified during validation or field deployment and implement corrective design improvements.
- Provide technical leadership in vendor qualification and management for mechanical components and liquid cooling subsystems.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks impacting performance, schedule, or cost, and contribute to R&D initiatives advancing liquid cooling technologies and system innovation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
Experience:
- 8 years' experience in mechanical design and integration of mission-critical systems.
- Proven track record of successful system designs and implementations in a relevant industry
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategy, and system coordination
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to Energy Storage Systems and Data Center Infrastructure is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
