The Quality Manager leads and continuously improves the company’s Quality processes, procedures, and systems, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ITAR, customer-specific, and regulatory requirements. Job Responsibilities:

Quality Management System (QMS) Ownership

• Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring full compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and all applicable customer, regulatory, and internal standards.

• Develop, issue, and control all quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and records through proper document control processes.

• Coordinate with department leaders to ensure that all processes are accurately documented, properly implemented, and continually improved.

• Monitor and report on quality system metrics, including audit findings, corrective/preventive actions, and process adherence.


Audits & Compliance

• Lead all internal, customer, and third-party audits, including preparation, execution, documentation, and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.

Manage the internal audit program—train internal auditors, assign audit schedules, and ensure comprehensive process coverage.

• Facilitate audit readiness across departments by ensuring documentation accuracy, calibration traceability, and process adherence.

• Maintain records and audit trails to demonstrate compliance with AS9100 and ITAR requirements.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure process consistency and compliance across production and support areas.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to reduce variation, improve product quality, and strengthen system efficiency.

• Provide structured feedback and recommendations based on quality trends, nonconformances, and audit outcomes.

• Partner with leadership to align QMS initiatives with company objectives and customer expectations.


Documentation & Control

• Oversee the control, issuance, and revision of all QMS documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.

• Maintain a robust document control system that supports traceability, revision control, and change management.

• Verify that records, inspection data, and certifications are properly stored and retrievable for audits and customer review.

• Support configuration management and ensure consistent documentation across all controlled processes.


Training & Leadership

• Train and mentor internal auditors, quality staff, and process owners on QMS requirements and quality principles.

• Promote a company-wide culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on corrective actions and process enhancements.

• Support the Product Quality Manager or designee by providing system-level documentation, structure, and visibility into quality performance metrics and trends.

Metrics & Reporting

• Track and report QMS performance through key metrics and dashboards (e.g., audit results, CAPA status, NCR rates, process adherence).

• Communicate audit outcomes, compliance status, and quality system performance to the leadership team.

• Use data-driven analysis to recommend improvements in system effectiveness and compliance readiness.


Customer Quality & Satisfaction

• Serve as the primary quality interface for customers, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, specifications, and quality expectations.

• Lead customer audits and manage quality concerns, including root cause analysis and formal corrective action responses (8D, SCAR), ensuring timely resolution.

• Support successful product launches and ongoing production compliance by collaborating with customers on FAI, performance metrics (PPM, OTD), and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to proactively mitigate risks, provide quality performance updates, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.

This role is responsible for defining system performance requirements, developing technical specifications, selection and integration of critical components, and leading mechanical design from concept through production release. Responsibilities include wetted material selection, thermal and structural analysis, fastening strategies, component layout, and design for manufacturability. Partners cross-functionally to deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-effective Data Center Infrastructure solutions while advancing innovation in liquid cooling performance.

What will you do?

- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and engineering of hyperscale Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) systems, including liquid-cooled rack assemblies, CDUs, manifolds, enclosures, structural frames, and associated hydronic piping systems.

- Serve as the technical authority for single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling architectures, including primary and secondary loop design, in-rack distribution, and system integration within hyperscale data center environments.

- Define and validate operational performance requirements for liquid-cooled infrastructure, including pressure ratings, hydrostatic limits, temperature ranges, flow rates and uniformity, thermal expansion, durability, and serviceability.

- Design, analyze, and validate machined components, welded fabrications, manifolds, and structural systems using advanced engineering principles, including stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), flow modeling, and structural load calculations to ensure mechanical integrity and code compliance.

- Lead wetted material selection and compatibility analysis for liquid cooling systems, including corrosion mitigation strategies, surface treatments, cleanliness standards, and long-term durability considerations.

- Develop and review CAD models and complete technical data packages using CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools; ensure design accuracy, manufacturability, and system-level integration.

- Author and approve technical specifications for piping systems, rack-level cooling infrastructure, and hydronic components, including installation guidelines, maintenance procedures, testing requirements, and compliance with applicable standards (ASME, ISO).

- Establish and oversee validation protocols including hydrostatic pressure testing, leak detection and mitigation, flow resistance analysis, and corrosion verification to ensure regulatory compliance and operational reliability.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking skilled Make-Ready Designers (primary focus) and Power Distribution Designers to support engineering programs for major electric and telecom utilities. Ideal candidates bring demonstrated experience in overhead utility pole design, NESC application, clearance assessment, pole loading analysis, and construction package development. Useful design platforms include DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or client-specific drafting systems.

In this role, you will review field/walkout data, evaluate existing attachment conditions, model pole loading, determine make-ready requirements, and prepare accurate construction-ready deliverables. Applicants without utility pole design or distribution engineering experience will not be considered.

Note: This position is remote, but new hires must attend a 2-week paid, in-person orientation at our Perrysburg, OH headquarters.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Execute overhead distribution and make-ready design work orders while meeting quality, time, and budget expectations
• Apply established engineering design standards, NESC requirements, and internal processes
• Perform end-to-end make-ready, joint-use, and/or general distribution design
• Conduct permitting and easement research (pole ownership, ROW, property rights, approvals)
• Collaborate with team members to resolve design challenges and ensure accurate deliverables
• Use design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, DDS, PoleForeman, O-Calc, Katapult, or client systems
• Perform quality control reviews when required
• Support additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or higher in engineering, drafting, or a related field is preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in make-ready engineering, joint-use design, or electric power distribution design (3+ years strongly preferred)
• Proven experience in utility pole design, including NESC application, clearance analysis, pole loading concepts, and preparation of construction-ready design packages
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; experience with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, or similar utility design platforms is strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of power distribution construction practices, with the ability to learn utility-specific proprietary systems efficiently
• Must hold a valid driver’s license, maintain active auto insurance, and pass all required background, drug, and MVR screenings
• Authorization to work in the United States is required
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including minimal overnight travel when project needs require
• Ability to work a standard Monday–Friday schedule aligned to Eastern Time, with Central/Mountain/Pacific adjustments as appropriate

The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Data Center Infrastructure) is a technical leader responsible for the architecture, integration, and validation of advanced mechanical systems supporting hyperscale data center environments. This role requires deep expertise in liquid cooling technologies (single-phase and two-phase), hydronic system design, structural integration, and manufacturable rack-level infrastructure solutions.

This role is responsible for defining system performance requirements, developing technical specifications, selection and integration of critical components, and leading mechanical design from concept through production release. Responsibilities include wetted material selection, thermal and structural analysis, fastening strategies, component layout, and design for manufacturability. Partners cross-functionally to deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-effective Data Center Infrastructure solutions while advancing innovation in liquid cooling performance.

What will you do?

- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and engineering of hyperscale Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) systems, including liquid-cooled rack assemblies, CDUs, manifolds, enclosures, structural frames, and associated hydronic piping systems.

- Serve as the technical authority for single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling architectures, including primary and secondary loop design, in-rack distribution, and system integration within hyperscale data center environments.

- Define and validate operational performance requirements for liquid-cooled infrastructure, including pressure ratings, hydrostatic limits, temperature ranges, flow rates and uniformity, thermal expansion, durability, and serviceability.

- Design, analyze, and validate machined components, welded fabrications, manifolds, and structural systems using advanced engineering principles, including stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), flow modeling, and structural load calculations to ensure mechanical integrity and code compliance.

- Lead wetted material selection and compatibility analysis for liquid cooling systems, including corrosion mitigation strategies, surface treatments, cleanliness standards, and long-term durability considerations.

- Develop and review CAD models and complete technical data packages using CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools; ensure design accuracy, manufacturability, and system-level integration.

- Author and approve technical specifications for piping systems, rack-level cooling infrastructure, and hydronic components, including installation guidelines, maintenance procedures, testing requirements, and compliance with applicable standards (ASME, ISO).

- Establish and oversee validation protocols including hydrostatic pressure testing, leak detection and mitigation, flow resistance analysis, and corrosion verification to ensure regulatory compliance and operational reliability.

- Evaluate customer design proposals and technical specifications to assess feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and risk; provide recommendations to optimize performance and total cost of ownership.

- Lead cross-functional design reviews with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure full system integration and compliance with product specifications and applicable plumbing and hydronic codes.

- Optimize rack manifold design and manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, surface finishing, connection interfaces, venting and draining strategies, and flow path optimization to enhance performance and manufacturability.

- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing assembly methods and tooling in collaboration with production teams and equipment vendors to improve quality, scalability, and cost efficiency.

- Lead root cause investigations for complex mechanical failures identified during validation or field deployment and implement corrective design improvements.

- Provide technical leadership in vendor qualification and management for mechanical components and liquid cooling subsystems.

- Identify and mitigate technical risks impacting performance, schedule, or cost, and contribute to R&D initiatives advancing liquid cooling technologies and system innovation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.

Experience: 

- 8 years' experience in mechanical design and integration of mission-critical systems.

- Proven track record of successful system designs and implementations in a relevant industry

- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategy, and system coordination

- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to Energy Storage Systems and Data Center Infrastructure is preferred.
