Job Description:

We are looking for a Machine Vision / Controls Engineer to join our fast-paced automation engineering firm. This role focuses on developing machine vision inspection systems while also supporting controls development and feasibility testing for custom automation equipment.

You will perform vision feasibility studies, camera/lens/lighting selection, and vision programming, primarily using Keyence Machine Vision systems. In addition, you will support PLC programming, system integration, and automation debugging on our custom machines.

This position works closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to integrate machine vision, robotics, motion control, and PLC systems into complete automation solutions.

Engineered Vision is dedicated to improving how factory automation projects are implemented through transparency, quality, and speed.

Duties:

• Perform machine vision feasibility testing in our lab to validate inspection concepts and system performance
• Size and select cameras, lenses, and lighting for vision inspection applications
• Develop and program machine vision systems (primarily Keyence)
• Integrate vision systems with robots, PLCs, and motion control systems
• Program and support PLC controls systems (primarily Allen Bradley ladder logic)
• Assist with controls debugging and automation system integration
• Support machine builds, testing, and troubleshooting in the shop
• Assist with system commissioning and startup at customer facilities
• Create and maintain vision documentation, feasibility reports, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to optimize inspection and automation performance
• Deploy systems at customer facilities and perform service work
• Travel up to 15% (mostly within 250 miles of Columbus, Ohio)

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship Required (we work on Government Projects – Green Card will not be acceptable)
• Must live in the Columbus, Ohio area
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• Experience performing machine vision feasibility testing and inspection development
• 2+ years experience working in industrial automation including: selecting vision cameras/lenses/lights, feasibility testing, and vision programing
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize automation systems in real-world manufacturing environments
• Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience working in industrial automation selecting vision cameras, lenses, and lighting
• 2+ years experience with machine vision programming of Keyence Machine Vision Cameras
• 2+ years experience working with a custom machine builder as a controls engineer

Construction Project Manager

We are looking for a savvy retail construction professional to join our Store Planning and Construction team as a Construction Project Manager.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with our internal teams as well as with our clients to define scope of work/deliverables, draft and submit budgets, review construction documents, participate in the selection of general contractors, manage the general contractor relationship/deliverables, obtain necessary permits and approvals, manage costs to meet established budgets, manage construction schedules, issue updates as needed regarding costs and timelines, and manage the turnover/quality control of contractor work. Travel is required on average of 1-2 days per week for onsite review of progress and final closeout.

YOUR ROLE WITHIN THE TEAM:

• Manage the construction process for tenant improvement and retail rollout on behalf of our clients.
• Collaborate with general contractors, engineers, architects, and other vendor partners.
• Collaborate with internal partners to manage timeline, expectations, responsibilities, and scope.

Position summary

We are a small, privately owned manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Industrial Engineer to improve how we plan, build, and measure our work. This role will be responsible for validating and maintaining production part times used for scheduling and capacity planning, while driving root cause analysis and process improvements across the shop floor. The ideal candidate is highly data-driven, practical, and collaborative—able to build trust with an hourly workforce and turn analysis into improvements that stick.

Key responsibilities

Production standards / part time validation

· Validate, establish, and maintain accurate production part times (routing/operation standards) to support scheduling and capacity planning.

· Conduct time studies (direct observation, work sampling, video/time capture where appropriate), document methods, and ensure standards reflect current best practice.

· Partner with Scheduling/Production to resolve time standard issues that impact promise dates, bottlenecks, and throughput.

· Implement a sustainable process for periodic review and updates of part time after changes in tooling, methods, product design, or staffing.

Continuous improvement / process optimization

· Map processes (current/future state), identify waste, and recommend improvements in layout, material flow, work methods, and standard work.

· Support line balancing, cell design, and capacity analysis to improve flow and reduce lead time.

Root cause analysis & problem solving

· Facilitate root cause analysis for production issues (scrap, rework, downtime, missed schedules, productivity gaps).

· Use structured problem-solving tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto, A3, PFMEA as needed) and track corrective actions to closure.

· Create simple, visual, shop-floor-friendly metrics and feedback loops that drive daily improvement.

Data, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration

· Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities (cycle time, downtime, OEE elements, labor efficiency, schedule attainment).

· Work closely with Production, Scheduling, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to implement improvements and sustain gains.

· Train and coach operators and lead on standard work, time study participation, and continuous improvement concepts.

Required qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· Demonstrated experience validating/setting labor standards and production part time in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong root cause analysis and process improvement experience with measurable results.

· Data-driven mindset with strong Excel skills (ability to analyze and present data clearly).

Position Summary

The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules across both bend and non-bend areas using the Velocity Scheduling System (VSS). This role ensures efficient flow through all manufacturing processes by visually managing workflow, balancing workloads, and maintaining buffer control for bend operations.

The Scheduler plays a key role in supporting production efficiency, maximizing throughput, and achieving on-time delivery while communicating closely with all departments to maintain visibility and control over shop priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Scheduling and Workflow Management

• Develop, maintain, and update visual schedules for bend and non-bend operations using Velocity Scheduling principles.
• Manage the bend buffer to regulate work release, ensuring flow stability and preventing production bottlenecks.
• Sequence and prioritize jobs based on due dates, material availability, and shop capacity.
• Track and monitor work-in-process (WIP) to ensure timely progression of jobs through all departments.
• Coordinate with leads and supervisors to balance workloads and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
• Adjust schedules proactively in response to changing priorities, materials, or customer needs.

2. Communication and Coordination

• Serve as the primary scheduling liaison between Production, Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing.
• Lead or participate in daily and weekly Velocity Scheduling System meetings, providing updates on flow, constraints, and buffer status.
