Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4 or Level 5) Systems Engineering Support Analyst to support the BDS Mission Assurance, System Safety and Safety Management Systems (SMS) organizations. This position is open to multiple locations.

Mission Assurance & System Safety Engineers are integral to the entire product lifecycle to identify, analyze, mitigate and verify the safety hazard risk of our Boeing products. This includes collaboration with all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, requirements definition, and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their fielded environments.

Primary responsibilities:

• Develops, maintains, and communicates strategies, policies, and initiatives to enhance mission assurance, safety,  and airworthiness of Boeing products and services.
• Assists to develop, gather and document basic technical data for company products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle.
• Assists with the application of systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design of basic system of systems, systems and new product development.
• Assist with the development of best practices for Mission Assurance and Safety Engineers.
• Coordinate key milestones across BDS programs to ensure the timely execution of mission assurance F/TMARRs and independent reviews.
• Coordinate with Mission Assurance Division leaders to gain readiness status of customer commitments across 35 major BDS programs.
• Researches, analyzes, and compiles basic technical data for company products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the program life-cycle.
• Coordinate with Enterprise stakeholders on Enterprise Safety and Mission Assurance initiatives.

The 777-8F Airplane Level Integration Team (ALIT) organization has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering and Integration Manager (Level K) to join our team in Everett, Washington.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will lead activities critical to the success of the 777-8F derivative within the 777X family, such as functional integration, requirements integration, and/or development assurance oversight. This role will lead teams that own critical program-level deliverables and processes within systems engineering, provide systems engineering expertise and guidance to program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and develop artifacts necessary for aircraft certification. Seeking an Experienced Product Lifecycle Process Engineer to support the installation and validation of loadable software on aircraft and in lab or production environments. This role collaborates with Design Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure procedures meet hardware/software requirements and safety standards, and to deliver clear, repeatable loading procedures, robust troubleshooting, and up-to-date user guides. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on Airplane Systems experience, strong technical writing skills, and a commitment to operational reliability.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install loadable software on aircraft platforms and bench test environments in accordance with approved procedures.
• Develop clear, step-by-step loading procedures and instructions for both on-aircraft and bench scenarios.

Qualifications You Must Have:  

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience with any combination of the following:

• Experience with proactive and reactive component obsolescence management methodologies. 

• Experience with data collection, analysis, and presentation skills to adequately discuss system impact of component obsolescence issues. 

• Experience with project management working with schedules, costs, and integration of stakeholder needs throughout the obsolescence process. 

• Financial and Contract Management experience with proposals, BOE, EVMs, SOWs, CLINs and CDRLs. 

• Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs. 

• Risk and Opportunity business case analysis experience supporting sustainment vs redesign cut in decisions. 

Qualifications We Prefer:  

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related science or engineering discipline 

• Ability to navigate multiple complex processes and tools. 

• Understanding of the application of technical theories and concepts as they apply to electronic components and the parts management field. 

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hierarchy definition. 

• Knowledge of component failure modes by commodity 

• Knowledge of Component MIL drawings, standards, test specifications, and associated QPLs and QMLs 

• Knowledge of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in military, and aerospace flight applications 

• Knowledge of analog design and analysis, general knowledge of digital circuitry and interfaces 

• Excellent communication skills to interface with other Integrated Product Team members, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Operations, and Supplier Engineering.  

• Capable of supporting regular customer interactions including but not limited to leadership engagements, responding to proposal requests and contract negotiations. 

• Outstanding organizational, presentation and technical skills. 

• Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize responsibilities. 

• Willingness to support occasional travel.

This is a Program direct-support position and requires a technical understanding of piece part electronic components and their assembly level applications.  This candidate will transition into a key leadership position in the supporting program Obsolescence Integrated Product Team and will drive issue resolution for situations involving obsolescence.  

The selected candidate will perform and/or assist in the performance of Parts Engineering, Components Engineering or Applications Engineering tasks supporting programs in the Proposal, System Design Description, Low Rate Initial Production, Production and Support phases. Position will require day to day interface with Designers, Contracts, Estimating, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other disciplines. 

 
This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do: 

• Understand and/or generate a program statement of work (SOW) and other defined customer component application requirements. 

• Develop and/or sustain a proactive Obsolescence Management process to deliver cost saving obsolescence mitigation strategies and solutions. 

• Drive resolution through support or execution of lifetime buys, selections of alternate parts, redesign efforts or other mitigation strategies and will facilitate and support contract negotiations, basis of estimates, and supplier statements of work for proposal efforts.
