Illumination Works is looking for an OT System Administrator to be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of systems and networks supporting industrial operations. This includes monitoring, securing, and optimizing OT infrastructure such as SCADA systems, HMIs, PLC networks, and industrial control systems (ICS) to ensure uninterrupted production and compliance with cybersecurity best practices.
The key responsibilities of an OT System Administrator include:
- Administer and support OT systems including SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, and DCS within government-operated facilities
- Support and manage OT networks and ensure compliance with government cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. NIST 800-82, CISA guidelines, FISMA)
- Maintain availability, integrity, and security of OT networks and systems
- Apply patches, updates, and backups to OT hardware/software in accordance with change management procedures
- Monitor OT network performance and diagnose, resolve, and document system issues
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure segmentation and appropriate integration between IT and OT networks
- Maintain hardware/software inventory and OT network diagrams
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and implementation for OT environments
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards related to industrial control systems
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical system support

Key skills we look for include:
- Must have 3+ years of experience in a systems administration or network administration role, preferably within an OT/ICS environment
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANS, firewalls)
- Working knowledge of Windows/Linux system administration in operational environments
- Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, BacNet, Modbus, OPC, DNP3, and Ethernet/IP
- Experience with SCADA systems (e.g. GE, Schneider, Siemens, Emerson) and OT asset management tools
- Familiarity with Kepware
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), AWS, and backup solutions
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and government cybersecurity mandates (e.g. NIST, CISA)
- Experience with endpoint protection, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and SIEM tools in OT environments
- Understanding of data frequencies
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to systems reliability and security
- Must have Security + certification. Other certifications such as CySA+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), or ISA/IEC 62443-related credentials are a plus
- Must have or be willing to obtain Secret Clearance (this requires US citizenship)
- Acceptable candidates must successfully pass a drug test and background screen

Job Details We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to innovate, design, develop, and test advanced components, sub-systems, machines, tooling, and systems.
The role ensures designs meet specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across all operating conditions while capturing and protecting novel ideas via IP processes.
This position combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, guiding intermediate to experienced engineers and influencing design approaches across projects.
Key Responsibilities Lead the design of major components, subsystems, and functional prototypes using CAD (SolidWorks preferred), simulation tools, and other engineering software.
Develop or improve products and manufacturing processes to optimize cost, quality, and performance.
Generate detailed engineering layouts, sketches, and documentation for design proposals.
Evaluate design factors such as manufacturability, material selection, interchangeability, strength-to-weight efficiency, and compliance with specifications.
Design and test metallic, composite, and non-metallic structures or materials for engineering applications.

Expertise in system, tooling, and fixture design for precision products.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, the scientific method, and data-driven design decisions.
Proven leadership, mentorship, and team-building capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems with multiple variables and constraints.
