Primary duties and accountabilities include:

• Oversee feasibility studies and design activities for new build/commercial projects
• Applies experience to ensure feasibility studies provide accurate assessments of projects and outcomes for business cases
• Coordinate with nuclear & power engineering counterparts to ensure project scope is clearly delineated and understood
• Ensure technical deliverables are reviewed in a timely manner and challenged thoroughly for technical adequacy

• Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying engineering principles
• Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications
• Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs
• Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations
• Has completed assigned skills and knowledge development training to broaden and deepen knowledge in select areas. Assist/mentor junior engineers on technical issues
• All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)

Minimum qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, or mechanical) with 5 years technical experience or related engineering experience
• Maintain minimum access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Preferred qualifications include:

• Proficiency in leading cross functional initiatives at an asset/plant
• Experience overseeing feasibility studies and design activities for new build/commercial projects. Strongly prefer nuclear plant working experience
• Experience working with NRC regulations and standards
• Possess knowledge of design standards/procedures and regulatory guidance applicable to support potential projects that interface with power plants

Key Role Description

The Pipeline Engineer sustains project management and integrity management for reliable operations in compliance with all Federal and State Pipeline Regulations of all pipeline and facility assets. Performs front end studies, cost estimates, detailed design, and construction support of gathering and transmission pipelines & tanks in the MIPC system. Assumes responsibility for pipeline engineering and project management including scope, estimates, schedule and budget. Reviews all proposed construction on the pipeline Right-of-Way and corresponds with property owners. Maintains pipeline GIS system and integrity program. Responsible for the pipeline capital and expense projects, budgeting and forecasting. Maintains and promotes a focus on MIPC's final deliverables and maintains effective communications with other refinery engineering teams.

Metrology Specialist I

On-site in West Point PA

Summary:

• Manage equipment assets at multiple locations
• Gain a working knowledge of laboratory equipment to facilitate with troubleshooting and/or communicate with the vendor/ service engineer to identify resolutions
• Participate in computer system validation activities associated with new or upgraded equipment or software packages.
• Originate and progress Deviations and Change Control records
• Perform and document investigations and assist in developing and implementing CAPA plans
• Contribute to new SOP drafting, implementation, and revisions.
• Represent the laboratory on all aspects of laboratory equipment during audits.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (cGMP), internal policies and procedures.
• Customer focused mindset with the ability to communicate adequately (verbally/writing) to all levels within the organization.
• Willingness and ability to quickly upskill in Merck Facilities/Instrument support programs SAP, ProCal, BAS, LAMP, Electronic Validation, and other document and/or asset repositories

Calibration Focus:

• Prepare, review, and approve archive instrument/equipment documentation such as master equipment lists, user access reviews, Instrument Installation & operational qualification documentation, and calibration documentation.
• Coordinate service activities across a variety of vendors and service engineers while building and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Collaborate with metrology staff across multiple testing labs and sites for process improvement, cross-training and cross-site support.

Support the purchase, installation, and equipment qualification of new laboratory equipment.

• Support primarily the qualification/validation of computerized analytical systems as per current guidelines.
• Partner with the business unit in the laboratories, various quality support oversight, IT technical support, and various software and instrument vendors/manufacturers.
• Perform any required change control during the life cycle of a computerized system.
• Decommission systems as required as part of the equipment qualification/validation life cycle.
• Manage the capital purchasing and initial installation of computerized analytical systems prior to validation.
• Participate in various data integrity and lab modernization activities as required.
• Will possess direct experience operating analytical instrumentation within a pharmaceutical or equivalent laboratory (vaccine or large molecule focus).
• Will have the ability to thoroughly review and scrutinize validation requirements through the life cycle of the system.
