FOR ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

• Engineering degree and 5 years of previous experience in project engineering or design, project controls, or project management, electrical engineering background/knowledge of Utility Interconnect Application process a plus
• PMP Certification / Training a plus
• Advanced computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software, such as MS Office Suite
• Advanced knowledge of MS Project
• Knowledge of business and management principles
• Knowledge of human resources management principles, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge of accounting, data, and administrative management practices and procedures

Opportunity

Salary Range: $125,000 - $165,000

Position Summary

The Estimating Department is responsible for producing project-specific construction estimates based on client requirements.

As an Electrical Estimator, you will:

-Develop accurate and timely electrical construction estimates for bids and proposals using McCormick

Estimating Software.

-Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.

-Perform quantity takeoffs and correctly input data into estimating software.

-Evaluate and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications.

-Prepare budget pricing from schematic drawings and narratives.

-Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.

-Participate in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and client/design professional conferences.

Requirements:

• 4 year B.A. degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or comparable discipline, or relevant, equivalent experience
• Minimum 8 years of electrical project management experience
• Minimum 3 years of electrical field work (union or non-union)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Universal Building Codes and building materials and techniques
• Ability to read, understand and edit electrical and structural plans
• Proficiency on a PC computer in MS Office, emphasis on Excel, Outlook and Project
• Ability to create and manage a schedule and budget to required margins

Pay Range: $90,000 – 195,000. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.

POSITION – Senior Estimator

JOB SUMARY

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase of projects, providing detailed cost estimates and bid strategies. You will collaborate with our Project Managers, Architects, Clients and Subcontractors to ensure bids are comprehensive, compliant, and positioned for success. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and hands-on experience navigating the intricacies of the public and private bid processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITEIS

• Prepare accurate and detailed costs estimates including materials, labor, equipment usage and subcontractor costs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit and evaluate proposals and negotiate terms to optimize project costs.
• Perform quantity surveys and determine labor production rates.
• Identify risks, value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions to enhance bid competitiveness.
• Proficiency with Blue Beam, Excel, and P6 scheduling software a plus.
• Proven expertise in public bidding procedures including familiarity with the California Public Contract Code, California prevailing wages, Davis-Bacon Act and state/federal procurement guidelines.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes and sustainability practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple bids concurrently.
• Degree (or equivalent experience) in all phases of General Construction and Construction Management.
