Summary:

The Radiology Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. A highly successful and expanding neurosurgery practice in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to join their renowned team.


This is a rare opportunity to join a high-volume surgical group that prioritizes work-life balance. Unlike many neurosurgical roles, this practice focuses on 100% elective surgery, meaning you will not be burdened with heavy trauma call or grueling hospital schedules.


We are looking for a provider who is eager to grow with us. While candidates with prior experience in neurosurgery, spine surgery, or orthopedics will be given first priority, the group has an excellent track record of training and onboarding PAs with clinical experience in other specialties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surgical First Assist: Provide first-assist support in the Operating Room (OR) for both spinal and cranial cases.
  • Clinical Split: Maintain an approximate 50/50 split between OR duties and clinic hours.
  • Patient Care: Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups; perform inpatient management and rounding.
  • Call Schedule: Very light on-call duties (approx. 1 in 6).
  • Note: This is patient call only. There is NO hospital call and NO trauma call required.


Qualifications

  • Licensure: Current or eligible for Texas Physician Assistant License.
  • Experience: Previous experience in neurosurgery or a relevant surgical specialty is highly preferred.
  • Candidates with experience in other medical specialties and eager new graduates who are willing to train are also encouraged to apply.
  • Certifications: DEA License, BLS, and ACLS required.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
