About the Opportunity
As a Professional, Prospective Review in Health Management - UM Prospective Review, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our prospective review process. You will work closely with the healthcare team to review and assess the appropriateness of medical services, treatments and high dollar medical equipment. What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of medical records and treatment plans to determine if the requested services are appropriate based on established guidelines and medical criteria across multiple lines of business.
- Utilize your clinical expertise to evaluate medical necessity and collaborate with MVP Medical Directors to determine the effectiveness of proposed treatments/equipment.
- Document clinical summations, recommendations and send appropriate correspondences accurately and within regulatory timeframes.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and members to collect pertinent information, discuss review outcomes and provide appropriate referrals within MVP.
- Remain up to date with industry standards and guidelines, complete required competency training and proficiency examinations to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline the prospective review process.

The Professional, Internal Auditor would be responsible for performing financial, operational, and compliance audits included on the audit plan for all of MVP's operational locations to ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures and analyze, interpret and document audit results. This position would be responsible for reviewing and testing processes and evaluating internal controls and providing improvement recommendations to MVP's procedures for appropriate control measures and efficiencies. This position would also assist the Leader of Internal Audit and Senior Internal Auditor in coordinating regulatory exams such as the New York State Department of Financial Service (DFS) and New York State Department of Health (DOH), and external audits as needed. The candidate would also assist in the overall coordination of MVP Audit Committee Meetings including the preparation of the Committee Meeting packages and meeting arrangements.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting/business plus 2 or more years auditing experience within an internal audit function or CPA firm or 4 or more years of experience in Finance or related areas within MVP.
Additional Desired Qualifications: Prior audit experience in managed healthcare industry and possession of a certified public accountant (CPA) or certified internal auditor (CIA) designation preferred but not required.
Examples of Job Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the Leader of Internal Audit, the Professional, Internal Auditor would be responsible for:
- Audit Execution - Execute audit program steps in accurate and thorough manner while maintaining workpapers of the highest quality.

Applications are invited for a full-time faculty position for a board-certified or board-eligible Neurologist in The Department of Neurology at Albany Medical Center, part of the Albany Med Health System.

Successful candidates will focus primarily on outpatient general neurology in three locations in the Capital Region; however, subspecialty training in all areas is welcomed, and opportunities exist to craft a clinical experience focused on your areas of interest.

Albany Medical College – Department of Anesthesiology
The Department of Anesthesiology at Albany Medical College (AMC) is seeking fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty team as we expand care of the obstetric population at our center. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, academically focused environment within the Capital Region’s only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center. Albany Medical Center and its Obstetric Anesthesia program attained the prestigious recognition of SOAP Center of Excellence (COE) designation in 2016 and continues to be recognized by demonstrating excellence in obstetric anesthesia care.
About the Role
Our practice includes both healthy parturients and medically complex patients, with opportunities to participate in anesthesia care for obstetric patients outside of the L&D suite (e.g., interventional radiology and general OR) for non-obstetric surgery in obstetric patients.
The delivery rates at our institution are approximately 2500 annually and more than 50% of our patient population are high-risk and MFM cases. AMC has a very broad referral area and accepts all high-risk cases referred from many counties in NY as well as from eastern Vermont for our advanced high level of care.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Care – Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for parturients in inpatient and outpatient settings. We do antepartum OB anesthesia consults for high-risk cases which are sent to the OB anesthesia division by perinatal outreach/MFM. The clinical spectrum besides delivery includes antepartum non-obstetric surgery, ECV and cerclage placement.
- Education – Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
- Research – Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
- Collaboration – Work closely with obstetricians, OB residents, L&D nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Mentorship – Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency
- Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required)

Responsibilities

Albany Medical College is seeking a thoughtful and collaborative leader to serve as Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Medicine. This is an opportunity to lead a well-established, highly respected academic division with a central role in outpatient care and medical education.
Albany Medical College is part of the Albany Med Health System, the only academic health sciences center and Level 1 trauma center in northeastern New York. The Division of General Internal Medicine delivers clinical care almost exclusively in the ambulatory setting, with inpatient services provided by closely aligned academic hospitalists. The Division plays a foundational role in the Department of Medicine’s undergraduate and graduate medical education programs.
About the Role
As Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine, you will oversee all academic, clinical, and educational activities of the division. You will lead an institutional initiative aimed at increasing the number of medical students and trainees who choose careers in ambulatory internal medicine. Working closely with the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director and the Medical Student Clerkship Director, you will help advance excellence across UME and GME programs.
The Chief will also guide the growth of the Division’s scholarly and academic mission, while sharing operational and fiscal oversight with an experienced professional management team.
As Chief, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide strategic leadership for a well-established academic ambulatory internal medicine division
Advance innovative outpatient clinical care models in collaboration with aligned hospitalist partners
Strengthen and expand undergraduate and graduate medical education in internal medicine
Lead efforts to promote careers in ambulatory internal medicine among students and trainees
Support and grow the Division’s scholarly and academic portfolio
Work closely with departmental and institutional leadership on shared operational and financial goals
Qualifications
MD/DO or equivalent with board certification in Internal Medicine
Established track record in academic ambulatory internal medicine, with demonstrated excellence in clinical care and education
Prior leadership, management, or program development experience preferred
Strong interest in educational innovation and faculty development
Eligible for academic appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level
Active and unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure in New York State

Albany Medical College is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Adult Cardiac Surgeon to join its growing academic cardiac surgery program. This is an opportunity to be part of a well-established, collaborative team within a health system that supports clinical excellence, education, and program growth.
The ideal candidate will have experience across the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery, including coronary revascularization, valvular disease, aortic pathology, and complex cardiac surgical care. Demonstrated experience in adult cardiac surgical procedures
Ability to provide a current operative case log
