The compensation range for this position is $35.22per hour - $60.58per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. Position Highlights: NT6 Observation
- Number of beds on unit: 35
- Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): The Observation Unit is a 35-bed unit that provides acute care for issues ranging from cardiac, to general surgery, to behavioral health. These patients receive holistic care that reflect the values and mission of Carle Foundation Hospital. Patients' goal length of stay is 24-48 hours.
- Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:5-6
- Department culture and resources: The Observation unit is a fast-pace, team-oriented unit. We work closely with our physician partners and ancillary team members to achieve the best outcomes for our patients. We have a robust Partnership Committee that meets monthly. We have a unit-based educator, 2 nurse supervisors, charge nurses and a discharge nurse.
- Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Foley/IV/NG insertions, Nursing prioritization, IV pumps, Lift equipment, SCDs, Telemetry monitoring, Patient connection

- Department culture and resources: Fast paced unit with medically complex patients. Unit relies on strong communication skills between all team members. Supportive teamwork plays huge role in success of care of the patient population and staff satisfaction.
- Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Assessment, all forms medication administration, good communication skills with provider team, IV insertion, ADL needs. - Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): The Advanced Care Unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in the care of acutely unstable patients that do not meet criteria for Intensive Care status but still require frequent, advanced assessments and interventions. Specific patient populations or conditions that require Advanced Care status include complex multi-trauma, uncompensated sepsis, continuous non-invasive ventilation, stroke, complicated withdrawal from alcohol or other recreational drugs, and DKA. The unit also includes an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) where patients with seizure-like events can be safely taken off medication to purposefully induce seizure-like events and provide vital information to the Epilepsy Team about how to treat them.

Provides care according to plan of care and orders.Directs the activities of the licensed practical nurse.Makes home health aide assignments, prepare written instructions for the aide and supervises the aide in the patient home.Assess patients for appropriate placement in Hospice per Medicare guidelines Make home visits to monitor for signs and symptoms associated with end stage disease and end of life Implement interventions to palliate symptoms in concert with attending physicians Triage phone calls when on call Make home visits to assess and pronounce death, do post mortem care, notify County Coroner of patient passing, notify Funeral home and physician Provide comfort for the family and make appropriate referral to Bereavement Coordinator

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $33.62per hour - $57.83per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model. The Hospice Field RN is a professional caregiver who is a member of the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include the coordination and provision of direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process to meet the physical, psychosocial, environmental, and spiritual needs of Carle Home Services specific patient populations and families throughout the geographical area. Hours may vary depending upon census and program need.

Responsibilities
