Tufts Medical Center Division of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Disease is seeking an Attending Infectious Disease Physician interested in tick-borne illnesses to join our team of outstanding physicians. This is a unique hybrid role that blends academic medicine, inpatient care, teaching, research, and community-based clinical practice.

This position includes work at Tufts Medical Center in both academic inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, combined with community-facing care at Melrose Wakefield Hospital and our Stoneham clinic . This integrated model offers a rare opportunity to collaborate across academic clinical care and community environments while caring for a broad and diverse patient population.

Tufts has been at the forefront of scientific advancement in tick-borne disease research since Lyme disease was first described in the United States in the 1970s. The Tufts Lyme Disease Initiative includes 19 faculty and over 50 members with a focus on tick-borne disease research, making it an outstanding environment for collaboration and research. Currently members of the Tufts Lyme Disease Initiative have over $50 million dollars in active grant funding for the study of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient clinical care at Tufts Medical Center

  • Deliver community-based clinical care at Melrose Wakefield Hospital and our Stoneham clinic as part of an integrated hybrid role

Neuroradiology with advanced imaging techniques and state-of-the-art MRI scanner is also our strong point. We have the best Interventional Radiology team in the Boston area with culture of “yes,” and provides exceptional patient-centered care. Moreover, we provide comprehensive training environment for residents covering Chest, Abdominal, MSK, Breast, and Nuclear Medicine imaging. Residents spend a dedicated pediatric radiology rotation at Boston Children’s Hospital. We received “continued accreditation” by ACGME this year. Responsibilities

The Program Director (PD) manages the diagnostic radiology residency program, ensuring compliance with ACGME standards and maintains a high-quality training environment for 22 residents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop educational curriculum, including but not limited to, weekly teaching schedule, introductory bootcamp for new first year residents, administer pre-call exams at the end of the first year of training. Annual review and update of the curriculum.

  • Supervise residents on quality improvement projects in conjunction with faculty

  • Resident wellness and engagement: Ensure adherence to Resident Wellbeing Policy and supervise Resident Wellness Committee

  • Recruitment effort: take a leading role in the annual Residency Match process, including, but not limited to, application reviews, conducting interviews, and creating a rank list of applicants.

  • Take a leading role in program evaluation, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives with support from GME

  • Work closely with APDs, the Program Coordinator, faculty, and the Chair to create a collegial learning environment in which everyone helps each other

PD receives dedicated academic time to fulfill the administrative role and is encouraged to engage in faculty development through radiological and educational societies (e.g., Association of Academic Radiology, Association of Program Directors in Radiology) and GME/ACGME-led faculty development programs.


Qualifications

  • Completed a medical degree (MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree)

  • Currently ABR Board Certified and practicing clinical radiology.

  • Is or eligible to be an active physician licensure in the State of Massachusetts.

  • Strong commitment in resident education and at least 3 years of experience in academic radiology teaching (e.g. Residency PD or APD, Fellowship PD, or equivalent). At minimum, an applicant should have worked at a radiology department that has ACGME-accredited radiology residency program and actively involved in resident teaching for at least 3 years.

  • Familiarity with ACGME accreditation process and ability to work with GME

  • Excellent communication and management skills.

Role Summary

Mass General Brigham (MGB) Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a Division Chief of REI to lead our diverse and collaborative team. The Division Chief is a practicing clinician who oversees all aspects of the academic, financial, administrative, and educational operations of the Division.

The Division Chief of REI shall be responsible for leading and continued building of the division of REI across Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and community sites. The MGB Division Chief will oversee all aspects of academic, operational, and educational activities of the integrated division. This will include development and collaboration of multidisciplinary, comprehensive, collaborative, patient-oriented approach to the care of patients and their families; comprehensive resident education of the delivery of subspecialty Reproductive Endocrinology care; fellowship training in REI; accountability for the overall quality, financial, efficiency, and effectiveness of medical care delivered within the scope of the clinical service and continued growth of network outreach efforts. In addition to practice operations, the Division Chief sets the strategic vision for the Division, including annual operating budget, faculty development, research agenda, and educational programs. The Division Chief of REI must be board-certified in REI and with substantial experience in clinical and surgical care, research, and teaching.
