Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide professional nursing services to patients/residents at home. The nursing process includes the documentation of human responses to actual or potential health problems in the home health environment. This practice includes dependent, interdependent and independent functions. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned setting. Cares for patients/residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for patients/residents in the home setting. Responsible to implement the nursing process, the coordination and continuum of care, patient/resident assessment, patient/resident education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.

Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.

Qualifications

Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience preferred.

Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Depending on location, a valid drivers license may be required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Job Summary

The scope of work for a respiratory therapist includes assessment, therapeutic intervention and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders and/or sleep disorders or associated complications. Assess and manage patients to prevent, detect, and monitor cardiopulmonary disease and complications

Deliver therapeutic interventions to improve cardiopulmonary and overall health

Educate patients on prevention, self-management, and improving quality of life

Collect and analyze blood and other specimens to evaluate gas levels

Measure lung capacity and identify respiratory impairments

Qualifications

A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program is required; minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Respiratory Therapists must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of equipment utilized in their department. Demonstrates the ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care. Must complete orientations, competency validations, and other in-servicing as required by the department and hospital.

Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.

Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Must obtain site-specific specialty credential(s) such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), etc.

We have the ability to work in several clinical areas ranging from general floors to critical care. We have the potential to work in our neonatal, pediatric and adult clinical areas at our 3 campuses. We have great management and friendly staff who is always willing to help each other. Our RT Department includes:

- Level 1 Adult Trauma Center

- Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center

- Comprehensive Stroke Center

- STEMI Center

- Level 4 NICU

This position is full time 72-80 hours a pay period. Most staff schedules consist of rotating 8 or 12 hour shifts with weekend requirements. On call hours may be scheduled. All of our new hires will start out every other weekend and then move to every third at 1 year of service.

Qualifications

A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program is required; minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Respiratory Therapists must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of equipment utilized in their department. Demonstrates the ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care. Must complete orientations, competency validations, and other in-servicing as required by the department and hospital.

Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.

Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Must obtain site-specific specialty credential(s) such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), etc.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care for stable and predictable patients of all ages in the home care setting. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the patient in the relevant setting and possesses the ability to perform testing to assess data reflective of the patient's status and to interpret appropriately the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to the age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in the home care setting. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients.

Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing to provide patient care and treatment. Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients. Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe environment, specific to the home setting.

Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in documenting and maintaining records. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, health care providers, and the public. Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions. Ability to interpret, adapt, and follow guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Counsels patients and family members, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

One year of professional nursing experience preferred.

Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Valid driver's license required.
