P osition Summary:
The Registered Nurse Manager (Patient Care Coordinator-PCC) will be responsible for performing expert leadership skills in management of staff and coordination of patient care activities. The professional RN will work collaboratively with all healthcare providers and non-health care providers. Will serve as a mentor and role model for all staff and will receive mentoring for the Nursing Director.
Requirements:
Must have a current Texas RN licensure
BSN Required
BLS from the American Heart Association and national certification in related field are required.
Three (3) years recent, full-time hospital experience with a minimum of two (2) years in an equivalent management capacity is also required.
Provides supervision over assigned clinical staff in a designated clinic setting to effectively and efficiently administer nursing care according to physician's orders. Communicates and enforces Policies and Procedures and Standard of Work.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited School of Vocational Nursing is required. Recommend at least two years experience in an outpatient setting with progressive responsibilities. Recommend at least two years experience in a supervisory/management position in a health care setting.
LICENSURE
Must possess a current license to practice Vocational Nursing in the State of Texas. Must maintain a current CPR Certification. ACLS certification is preferred.
Supervises and coordinates the operation and performance of the diagnostic area of Radiology in coordination with the professional staff, Chief Radiologist, Chief Technologist, Assistant Director and/or Director of Radiology. Performs administrative and patient care duties and ensures the prompt and efficient performance of all procedures. Keeps abreast of new technical and theoretical concepts and disseminates departmental information. Supports University Health’s policies, values and guest relations initiatives at all times.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Certification by the Texas Department of Health (MRT) is mandatory. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association is mandatory. Three years supervisory experience in a radiology department is required. Three years of managerial experience is preferred.
Serves as a member of the mental health care team that provides specialized health care for selected groups of patients in the Adult Detention Center. Participates as a part of a multidisciplinary team that includes medical and mental health. Actively supports and adheres to the University Health policies and procedures. Ensures efficient, appropriate and adequate mental health care is administered to incarcerated individuals in the Bexar County Adult Detention Center. Supports and adheres to University Health (UH) and Detention Health Care Services (DHCS) – policies and procedures. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with UH mission, vision, and values. Promotes excellent internal and external customer relations.
EDUCATION
A Registered Professional Nurse who is prepared for advanced nursing practice by virtue of knowledge and skills obtained through an accredited post basic or advanced educational program of study acceptable to the Board of Nurse Examiners. A Master’s degree in nursing is preferred. Three years of nursing experience is required and two years of advanced practice is preferred. Certification by a national nursing body is recommended.

Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas and credentialed by the State to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Prescriptive authority is required.
