Francis Marion University?s School of Health Sciences invite applications for a Didactic Coordinator for the Physician Assistant Program. This is a twelve-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The Didactic Coordinator, as a key member of the leadership team, will have teaching responsibilities, as well as support program assessment and instruction efforts in collaboration with the program director.
**Faculty may designate a practice/clinic day that works within the class schedule/department processes. (The practice/clinic day at times may be modified or changed depending on Program/curriculum needs)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee implementation of curricular design, mapping and coordination of scheduling of program and faculty (to include adjunct faculty).
- Serve as chair of the PA Program?s Academic Curriculum and Student Affairs and Progress Committee (SAPC). Advise other committees as needed.
- Support program director with accreditation documentation and problem-solving activities related to the didactic and clinical curriculum.
- Review, revise, and assist in the development of programmatic instruments including reports and surveys.
- Assist in the admission, success, remediation, and retention of physician assistant students during the didactic and clinical educational training.
- Teach, evaluate, and advise didactic physician assistant students.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the program director and his/her designee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience in a PA Program (or the equivalent)
- Prior experience with accreditation and/or curriculum development within a PA Program (or the equivalent)
- Additional years of full-time experience in a PA Program beyond the requirements
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring.
- Doctoral degree in a related field (e.g., DMSc, DHSc, PhD, EdD, M.D., D.O.)
- Licensure or eligibility for South Carolina licensure as an advanced practice provider.
- NCCPA board certification.
