T he University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurology and UPMC Neuroimmunology & Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Center have an exciting opportunity for a fellowship-trained clinical neuroimmunologist to join our expanding organization. We seek a highly motivated clinician interested in providing comprehensive care for patients with neuroimmunologic disorders, and teaching medical students, neurology residents, fellows, and support staff. An interest and background in conducting clinical research are desired but not required. We welcome you to join our team!
Key Highlights
- See a variety of "classic" and more complex neuroimmunologic cases that will challenge you.
- Our MS Center has a dedicated team of specialty-trained nurses; research, insurance authorization, and support staff; and our own state-of-the-art clinical suite and attached 10-chair infusion center.
- We have access to a network of high-quality neuroimaging resources, including 3 Tesla MRI and CT/PET scanners and excellent neuroradiology support.
- We have many educational activities, including a regular journal club, bimonthly complex case review conference, bimonthly neuroradiology case conference, and educational sessions geared towards all center providers and support staff.
- We provide multi-disciplinary care through collaboration with affiliated subspecialists in related disciplines, including psychiatry, cognitive neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurosurgery, neuro-urology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-vestibular, neuro-otology, neuro-gastroenterology, neuro-rheumatology, women's neurology; we have a specialized regional network of physical, occupational, and speech therapists; and we have a center for assistive technology.
- Our team of experienced nurses and advanced practice providers provide crucial assistance with patient care and safety follow-up visits, authorizations for pharmaceuticals and diagnostic testing, disability form completion, and appeals of insurance denials. We have a biorepository of clinical samples, including brain autopsy and biopsy samples.

The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting a Division Director. The ideal candidate for this position is a physician-scientist with a strong record of research accomplishments in patient-oriented, translational, or basic science research. The Division Director also should have excellent mentoring, clinical, and teaching skills as well as administrative experience sufficient to lead the division. The Division Director will be supported by generous development funds and will be offered an endowed chair.
The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh encompasses the largest, most comprehensive childhood cancer and blood disease center in the Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and Northern West Virginia regions. The Division currently includes 21 faculty members and 10 Advanced-Practice Providers, who provide compassionate, state-of-the-art care for children with cancer and hematologic disorders. Members of the Division have extensive research interests spanning basic research to understand cancer mechanisms, high-impact translational research, and NIH-funded clinical trials. The Division also is home to an outstanding fellowship program to train future leaders in pediatric hematology and oncology.
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is comprised of 20 divisions, six centers, and two institutes, with over 350 faculty members.
