Job Summary
Transplant APC (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) Provides inpatient/outpatient/OR based both primary and specialty medical services for the division of Transplantation and Advanced Hepatobiliary Surgery.
This position is responsible for providing both primary and specialty medical services. This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.
Responsibilities
Takes complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic and community physicians.
First and second assist in the OR
Performs physical examinations.
Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures.
Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions.
Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physician to provide optimal patient medical management.

- Collaborate closely with facility staff, mobile medical assistants (MAs), and telehealth support teams to ensure coordinated care
- Order and interpret labs and diagnostics, creating and following through on comprehensive care plans
- Document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in the EHR system
- Communicate with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Follow evidence-based practices, organizational protocols, and state/federal regulations
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing quality improvement efforts
