Job Duties
Excellence in high level acuity of Cardiovascular Care including pre and postoperative care, heart transplant and/or Ventricular Assist Devices, acute mechanical circulatory support and cardiogenic shock.
Clinical responsibilities include multidisciplinary rounding of intensive care patients within 24 bed CT surgical ICU.
Management of cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgical patients, as well as post-liver transplant patients within the Cardiovascular ICU.
Well supported by APP coverage.
Job Qualifications
Exposure to, or experience in the management of mechanical circulatory support devices
MD or DO degree and completed an ACGME-accredited critical care fellowship
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Critical Care
Pennsylvania Licensure in good standing upon hire
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiovascular Critical Care

Clinical skills required for this position would include electrodiagnostic techniques and neuromuscular ultrasound evaluation. Fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine is desirable but not required. Appointment at the Associate Professor level generally requires a minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated scholarly productivity in research, teaching, and/or administrative leadership and service.
Appointment at the full Professor level generally requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and ability to demonstrate the attainment of superior stature and national/international reputation in their field of knowledge.
Evidence of scholarly productivity is required for appointment in the tenure stream, including teaching and academic service, publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals, and a history of successful funding acquisition. The primary requirement for conferral of tenure is an outstanding record of sustained independent scholarship across the various activities listed above.
