The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-earning assistant professor or tenured associate professor with an expected start date of December 23, 2026.

We seek visionary scholars in the area of RF and Microwave Circuits and Systems. This position presents an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidate to lead innovation in high-frequency electronics-ranging from 5G/6G communications and IoT to specialized RF systems for spaceborne and extreme-environment applications.

The successful candidate will leverage UCF's proximity to the aerospace and defense industries to bridge the gap between academic research and the burgeoning commercial space industry. Given the scale of our programs, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future workforce by training and mentoring the next generation of engineers through our comprehensive undergraduate and graduate programs.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to high-quality teaching at all levels and to collaborate across disciplines to strengthen UCF's global leadership in electromagnetics and circuit design.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering, or other closely related disciplines at the time of appointment. Applicants must have a strong research track record supported by quality publications.

To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Past work experience in academia with strong funding record is desirable. A demonstrated record of teaching/training experience is of interest.

The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida Recreation and Wellness Center employs PRN (as needed) athletic trainers to serve in the supervision and coordination of the Recreation and Wellness Center's overall sports medicine program. The Opportunity

As a national and world leader in space, aerospace, and hypersonics, the University of Central Florida (UCF) has established a center of excellence on this topic and is working to strengthen its research and education mission in this area.

As a part of this broad, university-wide strategic plan, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applicants for multiple 9-month, full-time faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-earning), or associate professor (tenured). Candidates with a strong background in hypersonics and space systems are highly encouraged to apply. Technical fields of interest include, but are not limited to:

(1) Additive and Advanced Manufacturing for Hypersonics and Space,

(2) Cryogenic and Supercritical Propellant Systems Design, Analysis and Testing,

(3) Laser Diagnostics and Sensors in Hypersonic and Extreme Environments,

These positions have an anticipated start date of August 8, 2026. Each of these hires will strengthen UCF and MAE, and may include a combination of joint and/or secondary appointments. Each successful candidate will work at the intersection of the relevant research areas associated with the aforementioned themes. With NASA Kennedy Space Center less than an hour from Orlando, several well-known companies such as Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power, and Lockheed Martin have their major headquarters in Orlando. Others such as Pratt & Whitney (Raytheon), Northrop Grumman, Blue Origin, and SpaceX have their headquarters within easily drivable distances. All these companies share the same talent pools available in this region. UCF's Orlando location also puts it at the center of the Florida High Tech Corridor. The corridor has an excellent industrial base that includes software, defense, space, simulation and training, and a world-renowned entertainment industry. Adjacent to UCF is a thriving research park that conducts over $2 billion in funded research, hosting more than 100 high-tech companies and UCF's School of Modeling, Simulation, and Training. In response to this unique locational opportunity, The Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER) was founded to focus on student training and research on turbomachinery and associated energy systems for application in power generation, aviation, and space propulsion. CATER has 9 core faculty members at present, with a staff of 5 research faculty, 15 postdoctoral researchers, and 97 doctoral students. It collectively secured $20.3M of new external funding in FY 24-25 and graduates 13 doctoral students per year on average.

The successful candidates would be part of the UCF HYPERSPACE Center ( ), a Center of Excellence (COE) for Hypersonics and Space Propulsion at the University of Central Florida. The motivation of the center is Speed and Space with the goal of achieving ultra-high-speed flight through our atmosphere, and efficient planetary entry and exit, making space exploration and intercontinental travel as routine as intercity travel is today. The center is a national and world leading center in hypersonic and space propulsion, modeling, aerodynamics, laser diagnostics/sensors, extreme environment materials, and additive/advanced manufacturing with Government and Industry funding. The center is a hub for world-class hypersonic wind tunnels and facilities, advanced hypersonic research, training and education, technology development and innovation.

We present an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled researcher to join our team as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Inorganic/ Organometallic Chemistry at the University of Central Florida (UCF). This unique position offers a blend of advanced research in molecular inorganic and organometallic chemistry, with a downstream interest in reactivity, catalysis and relevant mechanistic investigations.

The successful candidate, housed in the labs of, and co-advised by Professors John Gordon and Titel Jurca, will play a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge molecular inorganic chemistry. Responsibilities include the synthesis and characterization of novel coordination complexes employing techniques spanning conventional air-free synthesis, to alternative sono- and mechanochemical methodologies. Relevant complexes will be further studied for reactivity, with potential application to catalytic processes. Additionally, the candidate will participate in standard laboratory responsibilities of upkeep/maintenance, the collective supervision of graduate and undergraduate students, and dedicated activities related to professional development.

Responsibilities:

Research: Conduct advanced research in the synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of novel molecular inorganic complexes. Collaboration: Actively collaborate across both Gordon and Jurca groups, and the REACT cluster at UCF, in pursuit of the research goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in organometallic, inorganic, or catalysis chemistry. Strong background in standard molecular analysis techniques including NMR, FTIR, mass-spec, scXRD (not required but desirable). Experience in air-free synthetic techniques (Schlenk line, inert atmosphere glovebox)

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills. Track record of high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals. Experience with x-ray crystallography.
