Position Summary
The Manufacturing Plant Manager oversees day-to-day plant operations—including production, drafting/design coordination, quality control, safety, and workforce management—to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing. This role serves as the bridge between engineering/drafting teams and the manufacturing floor, ensuring product designs are accurately translated into production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Operations Management
- Plan, direct, and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Optimize workflow, labor allocation, and equipment utilization for maximum efficiency.
- Monitor KPIs such as throughput, downtime, scrap, and productivity.
2. Drafting & Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with the drafting/engineering team to review technical drawings, blueprints, and product specifications.
- Ensure drafted designs are feasible for manufacturing and aligned with plant capabilities.
- Approve or request revisions on engineering drawings before releasing them to production.
- Translate engineering requirements into clear instructions for production staff.
3. Quality Assurance
- Maintain and enforce quality standards according to company and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate quality issues and coordinate corrective actions.
- Ensure product designs are executed accurately and match engineering specifications.
- Oversee inspection processes and documentation.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA or other relevant safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and employee training.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
5. Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, train, and evaluate production supervisors, operators, and support staff.
- Foster accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment.
- Lead performance evaluations and succession planning.
6. Resource & Budget Management
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and tools.
- Manage plant budgets, cost control, and operational expenditures.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

- Recommend and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
- Improve drafting-to-production workflows using software tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5–10+ years of manufacturing experience; 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The Service Technician will run electrical and mechanical diagnostics and deliver required repairs. They are responsible for performing comprehensive quality inspections and preventative maintenance services on overhead cranes and hoists. As a Logistics Coordinator (Broker-in-Training), you will be immersed in learning the fundamentals of freight brokering from day one. This role is designed as a gateway to a successful career in logistics brokerage. You’ll start by supporting our experienced brokers and operations team in coordinating shipments and solving transportation challenges. Through hands-on mentorship and a structured training program, you will gradually take on more responsibility with the goal of growing into a full-fledged Logistics Broker managing your own customer and carrier accounts over time. Key Responsibilities- Coordinate Shipments: Assist in planning and executing freight shipments from pickup to delivery, ensuring timely pickups, transit updates, and on-time deliveries.
- Support Carrier Relations: Communicate daily with carriers (truck drivers and dispatchers) to secure capacity for shipments. Negotiate rates and book loads under the guidance of senior brokers to meet customer needs at competitive prices.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to our clients by tracking shipments proactively and informing customers of any status updates or issues. Address problems or delays with creativity and urgency, ensuring our customers’ expectations are exceeded.
- Documentation & Administration: Handle the paperwork and data entry for shipments. This includes creating load confirmations, verifying carrier credentials, updating load status in our system, and reviewing carrier invoices for accuracy.
- Problem Solving: Jump in to resolve transportation challenges as they arise – whether it’s rerouting a shipment, finding last-minute capacity, or resolving delivery discrepancies. You’ll work with your team to develop creative solutions that keep freight moving and customers happy.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with your mentor and the broader team on daily operations and special projects. Contribute ideas to streamline processes, improve services, and drive innovation in line with our Logistics Innovation value.
- Broker Development: Take advantage of every learning opportunity. Over time, build the skills and knowledge (pricing, market trends, relationship-building) needed to transition into managing your own clients and carriers as a Logistics Broker.
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is a plus (but not required). Entry-level candidates are welcome – if you have internship or work experience in logistics, transportation, or customer service, that’s a bonus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’re comfortable talking on the phone and writing professional emails.
